चन्द्रघण्टा की कथा

माँ दुर्गाजी की तीसरी शक्ति का नाम चंद्रघंटा है। नवरात्रि उपासना में तीसरे दिन की पूजा का अत्यधिक महत्व है और इस दिन इन्हीं के विग्रह का पूजन-आराधन किया जाता है। इस दिन साधक का मन ‘मणिपूर’ चक्र में प्रविष्ट होता है।

इस देवी की कृपा से साधक को अलौकिक वस्तुओं के दर्शन होते हैं। दिव्य सुगन्धियों का अनुभव होता है और कई तरह की ध्वनियाँ सुनाई देने लगती हैं।

देवी का यह स्वरूप परम शांतिदायक और कल्याणकारी माना गया है। इसीलिए कहा जाता है कि हमें निरन्तर उनके पवित्र विग्रह को ध्यान में रखकर साधना करना चाहिए। उनका ध्यान हमारे इहलोक और परलोक दोनों के लिए कल्याणकारी और सद्गति देने वाला है। इस देवी के मस्तक पर घंटे के आकार का आधा चन्द्र है। इसीलिए इस देवी को चन्द्रघण्टा कहा गया है। इनके शरीर का रंग सोने के समान बहुत चमकीला है। इस देवी के दस हाथ हैं। वे खडग और अन्य अस्त्र-शस्त्र से विभूषित हैं।

सिंह पर सवार इस देवी की मुद्रा युद्ध के लिए उद्धत रहने की है। इसके घण्टे सी भयानक ध्वनि से अत्याचारी दानव-दैत्य और राक्षस काँपते रहते हैं। नवरात्रि में तीसरे दिन इसी देवी की पूजा का महत्व है। इस देवी की कृपा से साधक को अलौकिक वस्तुओं के दर्शन होते हैं। दिव्य सुगंधियों का अनुभव होता है और कई तरह की ध्वनियाँ सुनाईं देने लगती हैं। इन क्षणों में साधक को बहुत सावधान रहना चाहिए।

इस देवी की आराधना से साधक में वीरता और निर्भयता के साथ ही सौम्यता और विनम्रता का विकास होता है। इसलिए हमें चाहिए कि मन, वचन और कर्म के साथ ही काया को विहित विधि-विधान के अनुसार परिशुद्ध-पवित्र करके चन्द्रघण्टा के शरणागत होकर उनकी उपासना-आराधना करना चाहिए। इससे सारे कष्टों से मुक्त होकर सहज ही परम पद के अधिकारी बन सकते हैं। यह देवी कल्याणकारी है।

मां चंद्रघंटा की आरती………………..
जय मां चंद्रघंटा सुख धाम।
पूर्ण कीजो मेरे सभी काम।
चंद्र समान तुम शीतल दाती
चंद्र तेज किरणों में समाती।
क्रोध को शांत करने वाली।
मीठे बोल सिखाने वाली।
मन की मालक मन भाती हो।
चंद्र घंटा तुम वरदाती हो।
सुंदर भाव को लाने वाली।
हर संकट मे बचाने वाली।
हर बुधवार जो तुझे ध्याये।
श्रद्धा सहित जो विनय सुनाएं।
मूर्ति चंद्र आकार बनाएं।
सन्मुख घी की ज्योति जलाएं।
शीश झुका कहे मन की बाता।
पूर्ण आस करो जगदाता।
कांचीपुर स्थान तुम्हारा।
करनाटिका में मान तुम्हारा।
नाम तेरा रटूं महारानी।
भक्त की रक्षा करो भवानी।

माँ चन्द्रघण्टा का मंत्र:
या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु
माँ चंद्रघंटा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै
नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:॥

अर्थ : हे माँ, सर्वत्र विराजमान और चंद्रघंटा के रूप में प्रसिद्ध अम्बे, आपको मेरा बार-बार प्रणाम है (मैं आपको बारंबार प्रणाम करता हूँ) हे माँ, मुझे सब पापों से मुक्ति प्रदान करें।

पिण्डजप्रवरारूढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता।
प्रसादं तनुते मह्यं चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुत॥

साधक को चाहिये कि अपने मन, वचन, कर्म, एवं काया को विहित विधान के अनुसार पूर्णतः परिशुद्ध एवं पवित्र करके माँ चन्द्रघण्टा की उपासना-अराधना में तत्पर रहे। उनकी उपासना से हम समस्त सांसारिक कष्टों से मुक्त होकर सहज ही परमपद के अधिकारी बन सकते हैं।

उनका ध्यान हमारे इहलोक और परलोक दोनों के लिये परमकल्याणकारी और सद्गति को देनेवाला है।

His meditation is beneficial and salvation for both our here and hereafter. There is a half moon in the shape of an hour on the head of this goddess. That is why this goddess is called Chandraghanta. Their body color is very bright like gold. This goddess has ten hands. They are adorned with Khadag and other weapons.

The posture of this goddess riding on a lion is to be ready for war. The tyrannical demons and demons keep trembling with the terrible sound of its bell. Worship of this goddess is important on the third day of Navratri. By the grace of this goddess, the seeker gets the vision of supernatural things. Divine fragrances are experienced and various sounds are heard. The seeker should be very careful in these moments.

Worshiping this goddess develops valor and fearlessness in the seeker as well as gentleness and humility. That is why we should worship and worship Chandraghanta by taking refuge in Chandraghanta after purifying the body with mind, word and deed according to the prescribed rituals. With this, one can easily become an officer of the supreme status by getting rid of all the troubles. This goddess is benevolent.

Mantra of Maa Chandraghanta: She is the goddess in all beings Mother is situated in the form of Chandraghanta. Namasthasyai Namasthasyai “Om Namo Namo to her”

Meaning: O Mother, Ambe, who is everywhere and known as Chandraghanta, I bow to you again and again (I bow to you again and again) O Mother, grant me freedom from all sins.
