माँ दुर्गा की नौवीं शक्ति का नाम सिद्धिदात्री हैं। ये सभी प्रकार की सिद्धियों को देने वाली हैं।[8] नवरात्र के नौवें दिन इनकी उपासना की जाती है।[9] मान्यता है कि इस दिन शास्त्रीय विधि-विधान और पूर्ण निष्ठा के साथ साधना करने वाले साधक को सभी सिद्धियों की प्राप्ति हो जाती है। इस देवी के दाहिनी तरफ नीचे वाले हाथ में चक्र, ऊपर वाले हाथ में गदा तथा बायीं तरफ के नीचे वाले हाथ में शंख और ऊपर वाले हाथ में कमल का पुष्प है।[10] इनका वाहन सिंह है और यह कमल पुष्प पर भी आसीन होती हैं।[11] नवरात्र में यह अन्तिम देवी हैं। हिमाचल के नन्दापर्वत पर इनका प्रसिद्ध तीर्थ है।

माना जाता है कि इनकी पूजा करने से बाकी देवीयों कि उपासना भी स्वंय हो जाती है।

यह देवी सर्व सिद्धियाँ प्रदान करने वाली देवी हैं। उपासक या भक्त पर इनकी कृपा से कठिन से कठिन कार्य भी आसानी से संभव हो जाते हैं। अणिमा, महिमा, गरिमा, लघिमा, प्राप्ति, प्राकाम्य, ईशित्व और वशित्व आठ सिद्धियाँ होती हैं। इसलिए इस देवी की सच्चे मन से विधि विधान से उपासना-आराधना करने से यह सभी सिद्धियां प्राप्त की जा सकती हैं।

कहते हैं भगवान शिव ने भी इस देवी की कृपा से यह तमाम सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त की थीं। इस देवी की कृपा से ही शिव जी का आधा शरीर देवी का हुआ था।[12] इसी कारण शिव अर्द्धनारीश्वर नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए।

इस देवी के दाहिनी तरफ नीचे वाले हाथ में चक्र, ऊपर वाले हाथ में गदा तथा बायीं तरफ के नीचे वाले हाथ में शंख और ऊपर वाले हाथ में कमल का पुष्प है।[10]

विधि-विधान से नौंवे दिन इस देवी की उपासना करने से सिद्धियाँ प्राप्त होती हैं। इनकी साधना करने से लौकिक और परलौकिक सभी प्रकार की कामनाओं की पूर्ति हो जाती है।[13] मां के चरणों में शरणागत होकर हमें निरन्तर नियमनिष्ठ रहकर उपासना करनी चाहिए। इस देवी का स्मरण, ध्यान, पूजन हमें इस संसार की असारता का बोध कराते हैं और अमृत पद की ओर ले जाते हैं।

नव दुर्गा महत्व

भगवती का नौंवा रूप सिद्धिदात्री है। यह ज्ञान अथवा बोध का प्रतीक है, जिसे जन्म जन्मान्तर की साधना से पाया जा सकता है। इसे प्राप्त कर साधक परम सिद्ध हो जाता है। इसलिए इसे सिद्धिदात्री कहा है।

Anima, Mahima, Garima, Laghima, Prapti, Prakamya, Ishitva and Vashitva are the eight siddhis. Therefore, all these siddhis can be attained by worshiping this goddess with a sincere heart and rituals.

It is said that Lord Shiva had also attained all these siddhis by the grace of this goddess. By the grace of this goddess, half of Shiva’s body was that of the goddess. [12] That is why Shiva became famous by the name Ardhanarishvara.

This goddess has a chakra in the lower hand on the right side, a mace in the upper hand, a conch shell in the lower hand and a lotus flower in the upper hand. [10]

By worshiping this goddess on the ninth day, siddhis are attained. By doing her spiritual practice, all kinds of worldly and supernatural desires are fulfilled. [13] By taking refuge in the feet of the mother, we should worship with regular devotion. Remembrance, meditation, worship of this goddess makes us aware of the immateriality of this world and leads us to the state of nectar.

Nav Durga Significance

The ninth form of Bhagwati is Siddhidatri. It is a symbol of knowledge or realization, which can be attained through the practice of birth after birth. By attaining this, the seeker becomes supreme. That is why it is called Siddhidatri.
