ममतामयी माता के अनन्त रूप हैं और वही माता संसार में सर्वाधिक पूज्य हैं। “ब्रह्मवैवर्तपुराण” के गणेश खंड में कहा गया है की सृष्टि के समय एक बढ़ी शक्ति पांच नामों से प्रकट हुईं। वे पांच नाम हैं-
१. राधा,
२. पदमा,
३. सावित्री,
४. दुर्गा,
५. सरस्वती।
इस प्रकार ये पांच पंचतत्वमयी शक्तियां हैं। तीन गुणों (सत्व, रजस, तमस) की सृष्टि के कारण वन त्रिगुणात्मिका कहलाती और-
१. महाकाली,
२. महालक्ष्मी,
३. महासरस्वती।
के रूप में उसकी उपासना होती है तथा दस रूपों में आविर्भूत होने के कारण वह दशमहाविद्या कहलाती है।
देवीभागवतपुराण के सप्तम स्कन्ध में भगवती अपने पिता नगाधिराज हिमालय को अपने प्राकट्य का विवरण देते हुए कहती हैं-
अहमेवाह, पूर्वं च, नान्यत् किंचिन्नगाधिप,
तदात्मरूपं चित्संवित्-परब्रह्मैक नामकम्।
स्वाशक्तैश्च समायोगा-अहं बीजात्मतांगता,
स्वाधारावरणा तस्या-दोषत्वं च समागतम्।।
भावार्थ-
हे नगाधिराज हिमालय! सृष्टि से पूर्व मेरे अलावा कहीं कोई भी नहीं था। तब मैं ही परब्रह्म थी। अपने ही आधार (बिम्ब) शिव का वरण करके मुझमें दोष आ गया और मैं ‘एकोहं बहुस्याम्’ की कामना करके सृष्टि रचना में निमग्न हो गई।
।। जगद्जननी माँ जगदम्बा सब का मङ्गल करें ।।
There are infinite forms of a loving mother and she is the most revered mother in the world. In the Ganesh section of “Brahmavaivartapurana” it is said that at the time of creation, a greater power appeared in five names. Those five names are-
1. Radha, 2. Padma, 3. Savitri, 4. Durga, 5. Saraswati.
Thus these five are the five elemental powers. The forest is called Trigunatmika because of the creation of the three qualities (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas) and-
1. Mahakali, 2. Mahalakshmi, 3. Mahasaraswati.
She is worshiped in the form of a snake and because she appears in ten forms, she is called Dashamahavidya.
In the seventh canto of Devi Bhagwat Purana, Bhagwati, while giving the details of her appearance to her father Nagadhiraj Himalaya, says-
I said, and before, nothing else, O lord of the elephants, That Self-form is called Chitsamvit-Parabrahmaika. and by the combination of my own powers-I am the seed-self, The covering of her own base has come to be her-fault.
gist- O Nagadhiraj Himalaya! Before creation there was no one except me. Then I was Parabrahma. By choosing my own base (image) Shiva, I became guilty and by praying ‘Ekoham Bahusyam’ I got immersed in the creation of the universe.
