जाके प्रिय न राम-बदैही।

तजिये ताहि कोटि बैरी सम, जद्यपि परम सनेही॥

तज्यो पिता प्रहलाद, बिभीषन बंधु, भरत महतारी।

बलि गुरु तज्यो कंत ब्रज-बनितन्हि, भये मुद-मंगलकारी॥

नाते नेह राम के मनियत सुहृद सुसेब्य कहौं कहाँ लौं।

अंजन कहा आँखि जेहि फूटै, बहुतक कहौं कहाँ लौं॥

तुलसी सो सब भाँति परम हित पूज्य प्रानते प्यारो।

जासों होय सनेह राम-पद, एतो मतो हमारो॥

भावार्थ

जिसे श्री राम-जानकी जी प्यारे नहीं, उसे करोड़ों शत्रुओं के समान छोड़ देना चाहिए, चाहे वह अपना अत्यंत ही प्यारा क्यों न हो। प्रह्लाद ने अपने पिता (हिरण्यकशिपु) को, विभीषण ने अपने भाई (रावण) को और ब्रज-गोपियों ने अपने-अपने पतियों को त्याग दिया, परंतु ये सभी आनंद और कल्याण करने वाले हुए। जितने सुहृद् और अच्छी तरह पूजने योग्य लोग हैं, वे सब श्री रघुनाथ जी के ही संबंध और प्रेम से माने जाते हैं, बस अब अधिक क्या कहूँ। जिस अंजन के लगाने से आँखें ही फूट जाएँ, वह अंजन ही किस काम का? तुलसी कहते हैं कि जिसके संग या उपदेश में श्री रामचंद्र जी के चरणों में प्रेम हो, वही सब प्रकार से अपना परम हितकारी, पूजनीय और प्राणों से भी अधिक प्यारा है। हमारा तो यही मत है।

The one who is not dear to Shri Ram-Janaki ji, should be left like millions of enemies, even if he is very dear to us. Prahlad abandoned his father (Hiranyakashipu), Vibhishana abandoned his brother (Ravana) and Braj-Gopis abandoned their husbands, but all of them brought happiness and welfare. All the cordial and worshipable people, all of them are considered with the connection and love of Shri Raghunath ji, what more can I say now. What is the use of an ajna whose application causes tears to the eyes? Tulsi says that the one who has love for the feet of Shri Ramchandra ji in his company or preaching, he is most beneficial to himself in every way, worshipable and more dear than his life. This is our opinion.
