महादेव जी को एक बार बिना कारण के किसी को प्रणाम करते देखकर पार्वती जी ने पूछा आप किसको प्रणाम करते रहते हैं?
शिव जी पार्वती जी से कहते हैं कि हे देवी ! जो व्यक्ति एक बार राम कहता है उसे मैं तीन बार प्रणाम करता हूँ।
पार्वती जी ने एक बार शिव जी से पूछा आप श्मशान में क्यूँ जाते हैं और ये चिता की भस्म शरीर पे क्यूँ लगाते हैं?
उसी समय शिवजी पार्वती जी को श्मशान ले गए। वहाँ एक शव अंतिम संस्कार के लिए लाया गया। लोग राम नाम सत्य है कहते हुए शव को ला रहे थे।
शिव जी ने कहा कि देखो पार्वती ! इस श्मशान की ओर जब लोग आते हैं तो राम नाम का स्मरण करते हुए आते हैं। और इस शव के निमित्त से कई लोगों के मुख से मेरा अतिप्रिय दिव्य राम नाम निकलता है उसी को सुनने मैं श्मशान में आता हूँ, और इतने लोगों के मुख से राम नाम का जप करवाने में निमित्त बनने वाले इस शव का मैं सम्मान करता हूँ, प्रणाम करता हूँ, और अग्नि में जलने के बाद उसकी भस्म को अपने शरीर पर लगा लेता हूँ।
राम नाम बुलवाने वाले के प्रति मुझे अगाध प्रेम रहता है।
एक बार शिवजी कैलाश पर पहुंचे और पार्वती जी से भोजन माँगा। पार्वती जी विष्णु सहस्रनाम का पाठ कर रहीं थीं। पार्वती जी ने कहा अभी पाठ पूरा नही हुआ, कृपया थोड़ी देर प्रतीक्षा कीजिए।
शिव जी ने कहा कि इसमें तो समय और श्रम दोनों लगेंगे। संत लोग जिस तरह से सहस्र नाम को छोटा कर लेते हैं और नित्य जपते हैं वैसा उपाय कर लो।
पार्वती जी ने पूछा वो उपाय कैसे करते हैं? मैं सुनना चाहती हूँ।
शिव जी ने बताया, केवल एक बार राम कह लो तुम्हें सहस्र नाम, भगवान के एक हज़ार नाम लेने का फल मिल जाएगा।
एक राम नाम हज़ार दिव्य नामों के समान है।
पार्वती जी ने वैसा ही किया।
पार्वत्युवाच –
केनोपायेन लघुना विष्णोर्नाम सहस्रकं?
पठ्यते पण्डितैर्नित्यम् श्रोतुमिच्छाम्यहं प्रभो।।
ईश्वर उवाच-
श्री राम राम रामेति, रमे रामे मनोरमे।
सहस्र नाम तत्तुल्यम राम नाम वरानने।।
यह राम नाम सभी आपदाओं को हरने वाला, सभी सम्पदाओं को देने वाला दाता है, सारे संसार को विश्राम/शान्ति प्रदान करने वाला है। इसीलिए मैं इसे बार बार प्रणाम करता हूँ।
आपदामपहर्तारम् दातारम् सर्वसंपदाम्।
लोकाभिरामम् श्रीरामम् भूयो भूयो नमयहम्।
भव सागर के सभी समस्याओं और दुःख के बीजों को भूंज के रख देनेवा
Seeing Mahadev ji once bowing down to someone without any reason, Parvati ji asked whom do you keep bowing to?
Shiva ji tells Parvati ji that O Goddess! I bow thrice to a person who says Ram once.
Parvati ji once asked Shiva ji why do you go to the crematorium and why do you put ashes of the pyre on the body?
At the same time Shiva took Parvati to the crematorium. There a dead body was brought for the last rites. People were bringing the dead body saying Ram Naam Satya Hai.
Shiva said that look Parvati! When people come towards this crematorium, they come remembering the name of Ram. And for the purpose of this dead body, my dear divine name Ram comes out of the mouth of many people, I come to the crematorium to hear that, and I respect this dead body which becomes an instrument in getting the name of Ram chanted from the mouths of so many people, I bow down, and after burning in the fire, I apply its ashes on my body.
I have a great love for the one who calls Ram Naam.
Once Shiva reached Kailash and asked Parvati for food. Parvati was reciting Vishnu Sahasranama. Parvati ji said that the lesson is not complete yet, please wait for a while.
Shiva said that it will take both time and labor. The way saints shorten the name of Sahasra and chant it regularly, take the same remedy.
Parvati ji asked how do they do the remedy? I want to hear
Lord Shiva said, just say Ram once, you will get the result of taking a thousand names of God.
One Ram Naam is like a thousand divine names.
Parvati did the same.
Parvati said – In what way is the thousand names of Vishnu in a small way? It is read by the learned daily and I wish to hear it, O Lord.
God said: Sri Rama Rama Ramati, Rama Rama Manorame. A thousand names are equal to the name of Rama, O beautiful one.
This Ram Naam is the destroyer of all calamities, the giver of all wealth, the giver of rest/peace to the whole world. That’s why I salute it again and again.
He who takes away calamities and gives all wealth. I bow down to Sri Rama, the delight of the worlds, again and again.
The one who destroys the seeds of all the problems and sorrows of the ocean
