Nag Mahasaya’s sense of service was wonderful. One day he saw a poor man lying on the ground in his hut. You went home and brought your bed from home. By applying the bed with his hand, he made that sick person lie on it.
Once, seeing a patient chilling in the winter, Nag Mahashay took off his woolen sheet and himself sat beside him and served him throughout the night. There was plague in Calcutta. In those days of pestilence, there was no one else to peep into the huts of the poor except Nag Mahasaya. When you reached a hut, there was a dying patient crying. You wanted to reassure him; But he was saying – ‘ I am not even two drops of Ganges water in the fate of a sinner. I have no one who can take me to the banks of the Ganges today. ”””” Don’t cry. I’ll take you.’ Nag Mahashay single-handedly lifted him on his shoulder and took him to the bank of the Ganges. Until his body was released, he kept sitting on his lap and after leaving the body, cremated his body and then returned home.
One day a guest came to Nag Mahashay’s house. It was winter time. It was raining heavily. There were four rooms inside the house; But there was so much water in all three that there was no place to even sit. Only one cell was dry. You gave that room to the guest for rest and you yourself came and sat in the verandah with your wife. Said to his wife – ‘Today we have great fortune. Come, let’s spend this night remembering God.’
