prideful joy
King Bhojan gave a public feast to the townspeople. Lakhs of people were satisfied by eating variety of sweets and dishes. Hearing the discussion and praise of his generosity, the king’s chest swelled with pride.
In the evening they met a woodcutter carrying a bundle of wood on his head at the gate of the city, they asked him “Did you not know that King Bhojan has given a public feast today, otherwise why would you have to do this labour?”
‘No, I knew it perfectly, but what does the one who can eat hard earned money have to do with the public feast of King Bhoj? Where is the dry bread of hard work in the free dishes? The woodcutter spoke.
The joy of self-pride, which is attached to the livelihood earned by labor and sweat, is more than thirty dishes. The king was impressed by his truthfulness and rewarded him.
