[भज] निताई-गौर राधेश्याम [जप] हरेकृष्ण हरेराम
वासुदेव कुष्ठीका उद्धार
धन्यं तं नौमि चैतन्यं वासुदेवं दयार्द्रधी:।
नष्टकुष्ठं रुपपुष्टं भक्तितुष्टं चकार य:।।
जीवन में मस्ती हो, संसारी लोगों के मानापमान की परवा न हो, किसी नियत स्थान में नियत समय पर पहुँचने पर दृढ़ संकल्प न हो और किसी विशेष स्थान में ममत्व न हो; बस, तभी तो यात्रा में मजा मिलता है। ऐसे यात्री का जीवन स्वाभाविक ही तपोमय जीवन होगा और प्राणिमात्र के प्रति उसके हृदय में प्रेम तथा ममता के भाव होंगे। असल में ऐसे ही लोगों की यात्रा सफल यात्रा कही जा सकती है। ऐसे यात्री नरदेहधारी नारायण हैं, उनकी पदधूलि से देश पावन बन जाते हैं। पृथ्वी पवित्र हो जाती है। तीर्थों की कालिमा धुल जाती है और रास्ते के किनारे के नगरवासी स्त्री-पुरुष कृतार्थ हो जाते हैं। माँ वसुन्धरे ! अनेक रत्नों को दबाये रहने से तुझे इतना सुख कभी न मिलता होगा जितना कि इन सर्वसमर्थ ईश्वरों के पदाघात से। तीर्थों का तीर्थत्व जो अभी तक ज्यों का त्यों ही अक्षुण्ण बना हुआ है, इसका सर्वप्रधान कारण यही है कि ऐसे महानुभाव तीर्थों में आकर अपने पादस्पर्श से तीर्थों से एकत्रित हुए पापों को भस्म कर देते हैं, जिससे तीर्थ फिर ज्यों- के-त्यों ही निर्मल हो जाते हैं।
महाप्रभु चैतन्यदेव दक्षिण की ओर यात्रा कर रहे थे। वे जिस ग्राम में होकर निकलते उसी में उच्चस्वर से भगवन्नामों का घोष करते। उन हृदयग्राही सुमधुर भगवन्नामों को प्रभु की चित्ताकर्षक मनोहर वाणी द्वारा सुनकर ग्रामों के झुंड-के झुंड स्त्री-पुरुष आ-आकर प्रभु को घेर लेते। महाप्रभु उनके बीच में खड़े होकर कहते-
हरि हरि बोल, बोल हरि बोल।
मुकुन्द माधव गोविन्द बोल।।
प्रभु के स्वर में स्वर मिलाकर छोटे-छोटे बच्चे ताली बजा-बजाकर जोरों के साथ नाचते हुए कहने लगते-
हरि हरि बोल, बोल हरि बोल।
मुकुन्द माधव गोविन्द बोल।।
बच्चों के साथ बड़े भी गाने लगते और बहुत-से तो पागलों की तरह नृत्य ही करने लगते। इस प्रकार प्रभु जिधर होकर निकलते उधर ही श्रीहरि नाम की गूँज होने लगती। इस प्रकार पथ के असंख्य स्त्री-पुरुषों को पावन करते हुए प्रभु कूर्माचल या कूर्मम स्थान में पहुँचे। यह तीर्थस्थान आन्ध्रप्रदेश के अन्तगर्त गंजाम जिले में अवस्थित है। कहते हैं कि पूर्वकाल में जगन्नाथ जी जाते हुए भगवान रामानुजाचार्य यहाँ ठहरे थे। पहले तो उन्हें कूर्मभगवान की मूर्ति शिवरुप से प्रतीत हुई और पीछे उन्होंने विष्णुरुप समझकर कूर्मभगवान की सेवा की। पीछे से यह स्थान माध्वसम्प्रदाय वाले महात्माओं के अधिकार में आ गया। दक्षिण-देश में इस तीर्थ की बड़ी भारी प्रतिष्ठा है। प्रभु ने मन्दिर में पहुँचकर कूर्मभगवान के दर्शन किये और वे आनन्द में विह्रल होकर नृत्य करने लगे। प्रभु के अलौकिक नृत्य को देखकर कूर्मनिवासी बहुत-से नर-नारी वहाँ एकत्रित होकर प्रभु के देवदुर्लभ दर्शनों से अपने नेत्रों को सार्थक करने लगे। प्रभु बहुत देर तक भावावेश में आकर नृत्य और कीर्तन करते रहे।
जब बहुत देर के अनन्तर प्रभु वहीं नृत्य करते-करते बैठ गये तब उन दर्शकों में से ‘कूर्म’ नाम का एक सदाचारी वैष्णव ब्राह्मण प्रभु के समीप आया और प्रभु को प्रणाम करके उसने दोनों हाथों की अंजलि बांधे हुए निवदेन किया- ‘भगवन ! आपके दर्शनों से आज हम सभी पुरवासी कृतार्थ हुए। आप-जैसे महापुरुष यदा-कदा ही ऐसे तीर्थों को अपनी पदधूलि से पावन बनाने के लिये पधारते हैं। लोक के कल्याण के निमित्त आप- जैसे संत-महात्माओं का देशाटन होता है। गृहस्थियों के घरों की पावन करना ही आपकी यात्रा का प्रधान उद्देश्य है। मैं अत्यन्त ही निर्धन, दीन-हीन कंगाल ब्राह्मणबन्धु हूँ। भगवन ! यदि अपनी चरणरज से मेरे घर को पावन बना सकें, तो मेरे ऊपर अत्यन्त ही अनुग्रह हो ! नाथ ! मैं आपके चरणों में सिर से प्रणाम करता हुआ प्रार्थना करता हूँ कि आप मेरी इस प्रार्थना को अवश्य ही स्वीकार करें।’
प्रभु ने प्रसन्नता प्रकट करते हुए कहा- ‘विप्रवर ! आप जैसी बातें कर रहे हैं। ब्राह्मण तो साक्षात श्रीहरि के मुख हैं, आप-जैसे विनयी वैष्णव ब्राह्मण का आतिथ्य ग्रहण करने में तो मैं अपना अहोभाग्य समझता हूँ। जो भगवद भक्त है, साधु-संतों में श्रद्धा रखते हैं, जिन्हें अतिथियों की सेवा करने में सुख प्रतीत होता है, ऐसे भक्तों के घर का प्रसादान्न ग्रहण करने से अतिथि भी पवित्र बन जाता है। ऐसे आतिथ्य से अतिथि और आतिथ्य करने वाला दोनों ही धन्य हो जाते हैं। इसलिये मैं आपका आतिथ्य अवश्य ही ग्रहण करूँगा।’
प्रभु के मुख से निमन्त्रण की स्वीकृति सुनकर वह ब्राह्मण आनन्द के कारण व्याकुल-सा हो उठा। वह उसी समय अस्त-व्यस्त भाव से अपने घर गया और अपनी ब्राह्मणी से कहकर उसने महाप्रभु के लिये भाँति-भाँति के उत्तमोत्तम पदार्थ बनवाये। पतिप्राणा सती-साध्वी ब्राह्मणी ने बात-की-बात में नाना भाँति के व्यंजन बनाकर पति से प्रभु को बुला लाने का अनुरोध किया। भोजनों को तैयार देखकर ब्राह्मण जल्दी से प्रभु को बुला लाया। घर पर आते ही उसने हाथों से प्रभु के पादपद्मों को पखारा और उस पादोदक को स्वयं पान किया तथा परिवार भर को पिलाया। इसके अनन्तर सुन्दर से आसन पर प्रभु को बिठाकर धीरे-धीरे भगवान का प्रसाद ला-लाकर प्रभु के सामने रखने लगा। उस प्रेम में पगे हुए भाँति-भाँति के सुन्दर सुस्वादु पदार्थों को देखकर और उनके ऊपर सुन्दर तुलसी मंजरी का अवलोकर करके प्रभु अत्यन्त ही प्रसन्न हुए और श्रीहरि का स्मरण करते हुए उन्होंने प्रसाद पाया।
प्रभु के प्रसाद पा लेने ब्राह्मण ने दूसरी और प्रभु के विश्राम की व्यवस्था कर दी और प्रभु के अवशेष अन्न के प्रसाद समझकर ब्राह्मण ने अपने सम्पूर्ण परिवार के सहित उस अन्न को ग्रहण किया। महाप्रभु एक ओर विश्राम कर रहे थे, कूर्म ब्राह्मण धीरे-धीरे प्रभु के पैरों को दबाने लगा। पैरों को दबाते-दबाते उसने कहा- ‘प्रभो ! यह गृहस्थ का जंजाल तो बड़ा ही बुरा है। इसमें रहकर भगवत-चिन्तन हो ही नहीं सकता। अब तो मैं इस मायाजाल से बहुत ही ऊब गया हूँ। अब मेरा जैसे भी समझें, उद्धार कीजिये और अपने चरणों की शरण प्रदान कीजिये, यही श्रीचरणों में विनम्र प्रार्थना है।’
प्रभु ने ब्राह्मण के प्रति प्रेम प्रदर्शित करते हुए कहा- ‘विप्रवर ! भगवत-सेवा समझकर ही तुम घर के सभी कामों को करते रहो। घर में रहकर ही कृष्णकीर्तन करो और अन्य लोगों को भी इसका उपदेश करो। मैं दक्षिण की यात्रा समाप्त करके जब तक पुरी की ओर लौटकर न आऊँ, तब तक तुम यहीं रहकर भगवन्नामों का संकीर्तन और प्रचार करते रहो।’
प्रभु की इन बातों से ब्राह्मण को कुछ-कुछ संतोष हुआ और उसने उसी समय भगवन्नाम-संकीर्तन करने का निश्चय कर लिया। उस रात्रि प्रभु उस महाभाग कूर्म ब्राह्मण के ही घर में रहे। प्रात: काल नित्यकर्म से निवृत्त होकर प्रभु ने आगे के लिये प्रस्थान किया। कूर्म बहुत देर तक प्रभु को पहुँचाने के लिये उनके साथ-ही ग्राम से बाहर तक गया। जब प्रभु ने बार बार उससे लौक जाने का आग्रह किया, तब वह अत्यंत दु;खित-चित्त से रुदन करता हुआ ग्राम की ओर लौट आया।
उसी ग्राम में वासुदेव नामक एक परम वैष्णव ब्राह्मण रहता था। उसकी साधु-महात्माओं के चरणों में अत्यधिक प्रीति थी। जहाँ भी किसी साधु-महात्मा के आगमन का समाचार पाता, वहीं आकर वह उनकी दूर से चरणवन्दना करता। प्रारब्ध-कर्मों से उस परमभागवत वैष्णव के सम्पूर्ण अंग में गलित कुष्ठ हो गया था, इससे उसे तनिक भी क्लेश नहीं होता था। वह उसे प्रारब्ध-कर्मों का भोग समझकर प्रसन्नतापूर्वक सहन करता था। उसके सम्पूर्ण अंगों में घाव हो गये थे और उनमें कीड़े पड़ गये थे। वासुदेव उन कीड़ों को निकालने की कोशिश नहीं करता। यही नहीं किन्तु जो कीड़ा आप-से-आप ही निकलकर पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ता, उसे उठाकर वह फिर ज्यों-का-त्यों ही अपने शरीर के घावों में रख लेता और पुचकारता हुआ कहता- ‘भैया ! तुम पृथ्वी पर कहाँ जाओगे, किसी के पैरों के नीचे कुचल जाओगे, इसलिये यहीं रहो, यहाँ खाने को भी आहार मिलता रहेगा।’ संसारी लोग उसके इस व्यवहार को देखकर हंसते और उसे पागल बताते, किंतु उसे संसारी लोगों की परवा ही नहीं थी। वह तो अपने प्यारे को प्रसन्न करना चाहता था, संसार यदि बकता है तो उसे बकने दो। उसकी दृष्टि में संसार पागल है और संसार की दृष्टि में वह पागल है।
उसने प्रात: काल सुना कि ‘कूर्मदेव’ ब्राह्मण के घर में परम तेजस्वी अदभुत रुप-लावण्ययुक्त नूतन अवस्था के एक भगवद्भक्त विरक्त संन्यासी आये हैं, उनके दर्शनमात्र से ही हृदय में पवित्र भावों का संचार होने लगता है और जिह्वा आप-से-आप ही ‘हरिहरि’ पुकारने लगती है।’ इतना सुनते ही वासुदेव उसी समय महाप्रभु के दर्शनों के लिये कूर्म ब्राह्मण के घर दौड़ा आया। वहाँ आकर उसे पता चला कि प्रभु तो थोड़ी ही देर पहले यहाँ से आगे के लिये चले गये हैं। इतना सुनते ही वह कुष्ठी ब्राह्मण भक्त मूर्च्छित होकर भूमि पर गिर पड़ा और करुण स्वर में रुदन करते हुए विलाप करने लगा- ‘हाय ! मैं ऐसा हतभागी निकला कि प्रभु के दर्शनों से वंचित रह गया। हे जगत्पते ! मेरी रक्षा करो! हे अशरणशरण! इस लोकनिन्दित दीन-हीन कंगाल के ऊपर कृपा करके अपने दर्शनों से इस अधम को कृतार्थ करो।
हे अन्तर्यामिन ! आप तो घट-घट की जानने वाले हैं। आप ही साधु, संत, भक्त और संन्यासी आदि वेशों से पृथ्वी पर पर्यटन करते हुए संसारी कीचड़ में सने निराश्रित जीवों का उद्धार करते फिरते हैं। भगवन मेरा तो कोई दूसरा आश्रय ही नहीं, कुटुम्ब-परिवार वालों ने मेरा परित्याग कर दिया, समाज में मैं अस्पृश्य समझा जाता हूँ, कोई भी मुझसे बात नहीं करता। बस, केवल आप ही मेरे आश्रयस्थान हैं। मुझे दर्शनों से वंचित रखकर आप आगे क्यों चले गये?’
मानो वासुदेव की करुण-ध्वनि से दूर से ही प्रभु ने सुन ली। वे सहसा रास्ते से ही लौट पड़े और कूर्म के घर आकर रोते हुए वासुदेव को बड़े प्रेम से उन्होंने हृदय से लगा लिया। भय के कारण काँपता हुआ और जोरों से पीछे की ओर हटता हुआ वासुदेव कहने लगा- ‘भगवन ! आप मेरा स्पर्श न करें। मेरे शरीर में गलित कुष्ठ है। नाथ ! आपके सुवर्ण-जैसे सुन्दर शरीरम में यह अपवित्र पीब लग जायगा। प्रभो ! इस पापी का स्पर्श न कीजिये।’ किन्तु प्रभु कब सुनने वाले थे, वे तो भक्तवत्सल हैं। उन्होंने वासुदेव का दृढ़ आलिंगन करते हुए कहा- ‘वासुदेव ! तुम-जैसे भगवद्भक्तों का स्पर्श करके मैं स्वयं अपने को पावन करना चाहता हूँ।
प्रभु का आलिंगन पाते ही पता नहीं, वासुदेव के सम्पूर्ण शरीर का कुष्ठ कहाँ चला गया, वह बात-की-बात में एकदम स्वस्थ्य हो गया और उसका सम्पूर्ण शरीर सुन्दर सुवर्ण के समान चमकने लगा। प्रभु की ऐसी कृपालुता देखकर आँखों में से प्रेमाश्रु बहाता हुआ गदगद कण्ठ से वासुदेव कहने लगा- ‘प्रभो ! मुझ-जैसे पापी का उद्धार करके आपने अपने पतितपावन नाम को ही सार्थक किया है। पतितों को पावन करना तो आपका विरद ही है। मैं माया-मोह में फंसा हुआ अल्पज्ञ प्राणी आपकी स्तुति कर ही क्या सकता हूँ? आपकी विशद विदावली का बखान करना मनुष्य-शक्ति के बहार की बात है। आप नररूप साक्षात नारयण हैं, आपकी प्रच्छन्नवेषधारी श्रीहरि हैं। आपकी महिमा अपार है, शेषनाग जी सहस्त्र फणों से सृष्टि के अन्त तक भी आपके गुणों का बखान नहीं कर सकते।’ इतना कहते-कहते उसका कण्ठ भर आया, आगे वह कुछ भी नहीं कह सका और मूर्च्छित होकर प्रभु के पैरों के समीप गिर पड़ा। प्रभु ने उसे अपने हाथ से उठाया और भगवन्नाम का उपदेश करते हुए नित्यप्रति कृष्ण-कीर्तन करते रहने की शिक्षा दी। इस प्रकार दोनों ब्राह्मणों को प्रेम से आलिंगन करके प्रभु फिर वहाँ से आगे की ओर चल दिये।
कूर्माचल तीर्थ से चलकर प्रभु नाना ग्रामों में होते हुए ‘जियड़नृसिंह’ नामक तीर्थ में पहुँचे। वहाँ नृसिंह भगवान की स्तुति-प्रार्थना करके बहुत देर तक संकीर्तन करते रहे और पूर्व की ही भाँति रास्ते के सभी लोगों को भगवन्नाम का उपदेश करते हुए महाप्रभु पुण्यतोया गोदावरी नदी के तटपर पहुँचे। उस स्थान की प्राकृतिक छटा देखकर प्रभु का मन नृत्य करने लगा। उन्हें एकदम वृन्दावन का भान होने लगा। वे सोचने लगे-सार्वभौम भट्टाचार्य ने यहीं पर रामानन्द राय से मिलने के लिये कहा था। वे यहाँ के शासनकर्ता राजा हैं। उनसे किस प्रकार भेंट हो सकेगी। यही सोचते-विचारते प्रभु गोदावरी के बिलकुल तटपर पहुँच गये और वहाँ आकर एक स्थान पर बैठ गये।

I bow to that blessed consciousness Vasudeva, moist with compassion. He who made him free from leprosy nourished in beauty and satisfied with devotion
Have fun in life, don’t care about the respect of worldly people, don’t be determined to reach a fixed place at a fixed time and don’t have attachment to any particular place; That’s why there is fun in the journey. The life of such a traveler would naturally be an austere life and there would be feelings of love and affection in his heart towards all living beings. In fact, the journey of such people can be called a successful journey. Such travelers are Narayan in human form, the country becomes pure by the dust of his feet. The earth becomes holy. The blackness of the places of pilgrimage is washed away and the men and women of the towns along the way become grateful. Mother Vasundhare! Holding on to many jewels would never give you as much happiness as the feet of these almighty Gods. The main reason for the pilgrimage of pilgrimages, which has remained intact till date, is that such great personalities, coming to pilgrimages, burn the sins accumulated from the pilgrimages with the touch of their feet, due to which the pilgrimage becomes as pure as it was. become
Mahaprabhu Chaitanyadeva was traveling towards the south. He used to announce the names of God in a loud voice in the village through which he passed. After listening to those heart-pleasing melodious names of the Lord by the melodious voice of the Lord, flocks of women and men from the villages used to come and surround the Lord. Mahaprabhu stood in their midst and said-
Say Hari Hari, say Hari. Mukund Madhav Govind speak.
Joining the voice of the Lord, small children clapped and danced loudly saying-
Say Hari Hari, say Hari. Mukund Madhav Govind speak.
The elders also used to sing along with the children and many of them started dancing like crazy. In this way, the name of Shri Hari started echoing wherever the Lord passed. In this way, purifying innumerable men and women of the path, the Lord reached the place of Kurmachal or Kurmam. This pilgrimage is located in Ganjam district under Andhra Pradesh. It is said that in the past Lord Ramanujacharya stayed here while going to Jagannath. At first, the idol of Kurmabhagwan appeared to him as Shiva and later he served Kurmabhagwan thinking it as Vishnurup. Later this place came under the authority of the great souls of the Madhva sect. This pilgrimage has a great reputation in the southern country. The Lord reached the temple and saw Kurma Bhagwan and he started dancing in ecstasy. Seeing the supernatural dance of the Lord, many men and women of the Kurman residents gathered there and started enlightening their eyes with the rare visions of the Lord. The Lord kept on dancing and singing in ecstasy for a long time.
After a long time, when Prabhu sat there dancing, then a pious Vaishnav Brahmin named ‘Koorm’ from among those spectators came near Prabhu and after bowing down to Prabhu, he requested with folded hands – ‘Lord! Today all of us ancestors were blessed by your darshan. Great men like you visit such places of pilgrimage once in a while to purify them with the dust of their feet. Saints and great souls like you go to the country for the welfare of the people. The main purpose of your visit is to purify the houses of the householders. I am very poor, destitute poor Brahmin friend. God ! If you can make my house pure with the dust of your feet, then I will be greatly blessed! God ! I bow down at your feet and pray that you must accept this prayer of mine.
Expressing happiness, the Lord said – ‘ Vipravar! You are talking like Brahmins are actually the mouth of Sri Hari, I consider myself unlucky to receive the hospitality of a humble Vaishnav Brahmin like you. One who is a devotee of God, has faith in sages and saints, who finds pleasure in serving the guests, the guest also becomes pure by receiving the offerings from the house of such devotees. With such hospitality, both the guest and the host become blessed. That’s why I will definitely accept your hospitality.
Hearing the acceptance of the invitation from the mouth of the Lord, the brahmin became distraught with joy. At the same time, he went to his home in a disorganized sense and by asking his Brahmin, he got the best things made for Mahaprabhu. Patiprana Sati-Sadhvi Brahmin in conversation requested her husband to call the Lord after preparing various dishes. Seeing the food prepared, the Brahmin quickly called the Lord. As soon as he came home, he washed the lotus feet of the Lord with his hands and drank that lotus himself and gave it to the whole family. After this, after making the Lord sit on a beautiful seat, slowly brought the Prasad of God and kept it in front of the Lord. The Lord was extremely pleased to see all kinds of beautiful delicious things steeped in that love and after observing the beautiful Tulsi Manjari on them, and while remembering Shri Hari, he got the prasad.
To get Prasad of the Lord, the Brahmin made arrangements for the rest of the Lord, and considering the remnants of food as Prasad of the Lord, the Brahmin along with his entire family took that food. Mahaprabhu was resting on one side, Kurma Brahmin slowly started pressing the feet of the Lord. While pressing his feet, he said – ‘Lord! This householder’s trap is very bad. Staying in this, God-thinking cannot happen at all. Now I am very tired of this illusion. Now whatever you think of me, save me and give me shelter at your feet, this is my humble prayer at your feet.’
Showing love towards Brahmin, the Lord said – ‘ Vipravar! Keep doing all the household chores considering it as service to God. Do Krishna Kirtan while staying at home and preach it to other people as well. Until I return to Puri after completing my journey to the south, you stay here and keep chanting and propagating the names of the Lord.’
The Brahmin was somewhat satisfied with these words of the Lord and at the same time he decided to chant the Lord’s name. That night the Lord stayed in the house of that Mahabhag Kurma Brahmin. In the morning, after retiring from his routine, the Lord left for the future. Kurma went out of the village along with him to reach the Lord for a long time. When the Lord repeatedly urged him to go to the world, then he returned to the village crying with great sadness.
A supreme Vaishnava Brahmin named Vasudev lived in the same village. He had a lot of love at the feet of saints and sages. Wherever he got the news of the arrival of a saint-mahatma, he used to come there and worship his feet from a distance. Because of his deeds, the entire body of that Supreme Bhagavat Vaishnav had developed leprosy, it did not bother him even a bit. He used to tolerate it happily considering it as the enjoyment of his past deeds. There were wounds in all his organs and worms had fallen in them. Vasudev does not try to remove those insects. Not only this, but the worm which would have come out on its own and fell on the earth, he would have picked it up and kept it in the wounds of his body and would have called out – ‘Brother! Where on earth will you go, you will be crushed under someone’s feet, so stay here, here you will get food to eat.’ The worldly people laughed at his behavior and called him mad, but he did not care about the worldly people. He wanted to please his beloved, if the world talks then let it talk. The world is mad in his eyes and he is mad in the eyes of the world.
He heard early in the morning that in the house of ‘Kurmadev’ Brahmin, a devout devotee of the Supreme God, a devotee of God, has come to the Brahmin’s house, with a new stage of supreme splendor, wonderful form and beauty. She starts calling out ‘Harihari’.’ On hearing this, Vasudev at the same time ran to the Kurma Brahmin’s house to have darshan of Mahaprabhu. After coming there, he came to know that Prabhu had left here a short while ago for the future. On hearing this, that Kushti Brahmin devotee fainted and fell on the ground and while crying in a compassionate voice started lamenting – ‘Woe! I turned out to be so unfortunate that I was deprived of seeing the Lord. Hey Jagatpate! protect me! Hey refuge! Have mercy on this public-condemned destitute poor and do this adham with your darshan.
O Antaryamin! You are the one who knows every little thing. You are the one who roams the earth in the guise of sages, saints, devotees and sannyasis etc. and saves the destitute living beings who are mired in the mud of the world. God, I have no other shelter, my family members have abandoned me, I am considered untouchable in the society, no one talks to me. You alone are my refuge. Why did you go ahead after depriving me of darshan?’
As if the Lord heard Vasudev’s compassionate voice from a distance. He suddenly returned from the way and came to Kurma’s house and hugged Vasudev with great love while crying. Trembling due to fear and moving backwards, Vasudev started saying – ‘ God! you don’t touch me I have rotten leprosy in my body. God ! This unholy exudate will get mixed in your gold-like beautiful body. Lord! Don’t touch this sinner.’ But when was the Lord going to listen, He is a devotee. Hugging Vasudev firmly, he said- ‘Vasudev! I want to purify myself by touching devotees of the Lord like you.
It is not known where the leprosy of Vasudev’s whole body went, as soon as he got the embrace of the Lord, he became completely healthy and his whole body started shining like beautiful gold. Seeing such kindness of the Lord, Vasudev started saying in a voice of sorrow, shedding tears of love from his eyes – ‘Lord! By saving a sinner like me, you have made your name of the Purifier meaningful. It is your duty to purify the impure. How can I, an ignorant creature trapped in Maya-Moh, praise you? It is a matter of spring of human-power to describe your vivid farewell. You are Narayan incarnate, your disguise is Sri Hari. Your glory is immense, Sheshnag ji cannot describe your virtues even from thousands of hoods to the end of the universe. . The Lord lifted him by His hand and taught him to keep chanting Krishna-Kirtan daily while preaching the Lord’s name. In this way, embracing both the Brahmins with love, the Lord then moved on from there.
Walking from Kurmachal Tirtha, Lord reached the Tirtha named ‘Jiyadnrisingh’ after passing through many villages. There Nrisimha chanted for a long time after praising the Lord and like before, preaching the name of the Lord to all the people on the way, Mahaprabhu Punyatoya reached the banks of the Godavari river. Lord’s mind started dancing after seeing the natural beauty of that place. He immediately started feeling Vrindavan. They started thinking – Sarvabhaum Bhattacharya had asked to meet Ramanand Rai here. He is the ruling king here. How can I meet him? Thinking this, the Lord reached the banks of the Godavari and came there and sat at a place.
