भाद्रपद की शुक्ल चतुर्थी के दिन भगवान गणेशजी का जन्म हुआ था। इसलिए इस दिन गणपति की स्थापना करके गणेशोत्सव मनाया जाता है। आओ जानते हैं प्रथम पूज्य देव गणेशजी की पत्नियों के बारे में संक्षिप्त में।
गणेशजी की पत्नियां : गणेशजी की ऋद्धि और सिद्धि नामक दो पत्नियां हैं, जो प्रजापति विश्वकर्मा की पुत्रियां हैं। सिद्धि से ‘क्षेम’ और ऋद्धि से ‘लाभ’ नाम के 2 पुत्र हुए। लोक-परंपरा में इन्हें ही ‘शुभ-लाभ’ कहा जाता है। संतोषी माता को गणेशजी की पुत्री कहा गया है। गणेशजी के पोते आमोद और प्रमोद हैं। शास्त्रों में तुष्टि और पुष्टि को गणेशजी की बहुएं कहा गया है।
गणेश विवाह : पौराणिक कथाओं में जिस तरह शिव-पार्वती विवाह, विष्णु-लक्ष्मी विवाह, राम-सीता विवाह और रुक्मणी-कृष्ण विवाह जितने प्रसिद्ध और चर्चित है उसी तरह गणेश विवाह की चर्चा भी सभी पुराणों में रोचक तरीके से मिलती है। कहते हैं कि तुलसी के विवाह प्रस्ताव को ठुकराने से तुलसी के श्राप के कारण गणेशजी को रिद्धि और सिद्धि से विवाह करना पड़ा था। गणेशजी ने भी तुलसी को श्राप दे दिया था कि जा तेरा विवाह किसी असुर से होगा। तब तुलसी वृंदा के रूप में जन्मी और उनका विवाह जलंधर से हुआ।
यह भी कहा जाता है कि ब्रह्माजी ने रिद्धि एवं सिद्धि को शिक्षा हेतु गणेशजी के पास भेजा था। गणेशजी के समक्ष जब भी कोई विवाह का प्रस्ताव आता तो रिद्धि एवं सिद्धि दोनों की गणेशजी और उनके मूषक का ध्यान भटका देती थीं क्योंकि वे दोनों ही उनके साथ विवाह करना चहती थी। एक दिन गणेशजी सोच में पड़ गए कि सभी के विवाह हो गए मेरे विवाह में ही विघ्न क्यों? फिर जब उन्हें रिद्धि एवं सिद्धि की हरकत का पता चला तो वे उन्हें श्राप देने लगे तभी वहां पर ब्रह्मा आ पहुंचे और उन्होंने गणेशजी को ऐसा करने से रोका और रिद्धि एवं सिद्धि से विवाह करने की सलाह दी। तब गणेशजी मान गए। फिर गणेशजी का विवाह धूमधाम से हुआ।
रिद्धि और सिद्धि : श्रीगणेश के साथ-साथ उनकी दोनों पत्नियां ऋद्धि-सिद्धि एवं उनके पुत्र शुभ-लाभ (लाभ व क्षेम) का पूजन भी किया जाता है। ऋद्धि (बुद्धि- विवेक की देवी) और सिद्धि (सफलता की देवी) हैं। स्वास्तिक की दोनों अलग-अलग रेखाएं गणपति जी की पत्नी रिद्धि-सिद्धि को दर्शाती हैं। रिद्धि और सिद्धि की निम्न मंत्र से उपासना करने से दरिद्रता और अशांति का नाश हो जाता है। घर में सुख, समृद्धि और शांति का वास होता है।

- लाभ मंत्र- ॐ सौभाग्य प्रदाय धन-धान्ययुक्ताय लाभाय नम:।
सिद्धि का अर्थ : सिद्धि शब्द का सामान्य अर्थ है सफलता। सिद्धि अर्थात किसी कार्य विशेष में पारंगत होना। समान्यतया सिद्धि शब्द का अर्थ चमत्कार या रहस्य समझा जाता है, लेकिन योगानुसार सिद्धि का अर्थ इंद्रियों की पुष्टता और व्यापकता होती है। अर्थात, देखने, सुनने और समझने की क्षमता का विकास। सिद्धियां दो प्रकार की होती हैं, एक परा और दूसरी अपरा। विषय संबंधी सब प्रकार की उत्तम, मध्यम और अधम सिद्धियां ‘अपरा सिद्धि’ कहलाती है। यह मुमुक्षुओं के लिए है। इसके अलावा जो स्व-स्वरूप के अनुभव की उपयोगी सिद्धियां हैं वे योगिराज के लिए उपादेय ‘परा सिद्धियां’ हैं।

Wives of Shri Ganesha: Miracles of Riddhi and Siddhi
Lord Ganesha was born on Shukla Chaturthi of Bhadrapada. That’s why Ganeshotsav is celebrated by establishing Ganapati on this day. Let’s know in brief about the wives of the first worshiped Lord Ganesha.
Wives of Ganesha: Ganesha has two wives named Riddhi and Siddhi, who are the daughters of Prajapati Vishwakarma. Siddhi had two sons named ‘Kshem’ and Riddhi named ‘Labh’. In folk tradition, these are called ‘auspicious benefits’. Santoshi Mata has been called the daughter of Ganesha. Ganesha’s grandsons are Amod and Pramod. In the scriptures, satisfaction and confirmation have been called daughters-in-law of Ganesha.
Ganesha marriage: The way Shiva-Parvati marriage, Vishnu-Lakshmi marriage, Ram-Sita marriage and Rukmani-Krishna marriage are as famous and popular in mythology, similarly the discussion of Ganesha marriage is also found in all Puranas in an interesting way. It is said that Ganesha had to marry Riddhi and Siddhi due to Tulsi’s curse for rejecting Tulsi’s marriage proposal. Ganesha had also cursed Tulsi that you will get married to a demon. Then Tulsi was born as Vrinda and was married to Jalandhar.
It is also said that Lord Brahma sent Riddhi and Siddhi to Lord Ganesha for education. Whenever a marriage proposal came in front of Ganesha, both Riddhi and Siddhi used to distract the attention of Ganesha and his mouse because both of them wanted to marry him. One day Ganesha got thinking that everyone got married, why the disturbance in my marriage only? Then when he came to know about the actions of Riddhi and Siddhi, he started cursing them, only then Brahma came there and stopped Ganesha from doing so and advised Riddhi and Siddhi to get married. Then Ganeshji agreed. Then Ganeshji’s marriage took place with pomp.
Riddhi and Siddhi: Along with Shri Ganesh, his two wives Riddhi-Siddhi and their son Shubh-Labh (Profit and Kshem) are also worshipped. There are Riddhi (goddess of wisdom-discretion) and Siddhi (goddess of success). Both the different lines of Swastik represent Riddhi-Siddhi, the wife of Ganapati. Worshiping Riddhi and Siddhi with the following mantra destroys poverty and unrest. Happiness, prosperity and peace reside in the house.

Riddhi Mantra- Om Hemavarnayai Riddhaye Namah:
Siddhi Mantra- Om Sarvagyanbhushitayai Namah.
Auspicious Mantra- Om Purnaya Purnamday Shubhaya Namah.
Benefit Mantra- Om Saubhagya Pradaya Dhanayuktaya Labhay Namah.
Meaning of Siddhi: The general meaning of the word Siddhi is success. Siddhi means to be proficient in a particular task. Normally the word Siddhi is understood to mean a miracle or mystery, but according to Yoga, the meaning of Siddhi is the strength and comprehensiveness of the senses. That is, the development of the ability to see, hear and understand. There are two types of achievements, one is Para and the other is Apara. All types of good, medium and bad achievements related to the subject are called ‘Apara Siddhi’. This is for mumukshus. Apart from this, the useful achievements of the experience of self-form are the ‘Para Siddhiya’ for Yogiraj.
