भगवान को अपने भक्तों का यश बढ़ाना होता है तो वे नाना प्रकार की लीलाएँ करते हैं। श्री लक्ष्मी जी, माता सती और देवी सरस्वती जी 🔯 को अपने पतिव्रत का बड़ा अभिमान था। तीनों देवियों के अभिमान को नष्ट करने तथा अपनी परम भक्तिनी पतिव्रता धर्मचारिणी अनसूया का मान 🌟 बढ़ाने के लिये भगवान ने नारद जी के मन में प्रेरणा की। फलत: वे श्री लक्ष्मी जी के पास पहुँचे, नारद जी 🪕 को देखकर लक्ष्मी जी ने कहा: आइये, नारद जी! आप तो बहुत दिनों बाद आये। कहिये, क्या हाल है?
नारद जी बोले: माता! क्या बताऊँ, कुछ बताते नहीं बनता। अब की बार मैं घूमता हुआ चित्रकूट 🌌 की ओर चला गया। वहाँ मैं महर्षि अत्रि के आश्रम पर पहुँचा। माता! मैं तो महर्षि की पत्नी अनुसूया जी के दर्शन करके कृतार्थ हो गया। तीनों लोकों 🎇 में उनके समान कोई भी पतिव्रता स्त्री नहीं है। लक्ष्मी जी को नारद जी की बात पर आश्चर्य हुआ। उन्होंने पूछा: नारद! क्या वह मुझसे भी बढ़कर पतिव्रता 🌷 है? नारद जी ने कहा: माता! आप ही नहीं, तीनों लोकों में कोई भी स्त्री सती अनुसूया की तुलना ⚖️ में किसी भी गिनती में नहीं है। इसी प्रकार देवर्षि नारद ने माता पार्वती एवं माता सरस्वती के पास जाकर उनके मन में भी सती अनुसूया के प्रति यही भाव ❤🔥 जगा दिया। अन्त में तीनों देवियों ने त्रिदेवों से हठ करके उन्हें सती अनुसूया के सतीत्व की परीक्षा लेने के लिये आग्रह 🙏🏻 किया। ब्रह्मा, विष्णु तथा महेश महर्षि अत्रि के आश्रम पर पहुँचे। तीनों देव मुनि वेष में थे। उस समय महर्षि अत्रि अपने आश्रम मे नहीं थे। अतिथि के रूप में आये हुए त्रिदेवों ☘️ का सती अनुसूया ने स्वागत-सत्कार करना चाहा, किन्तु त्रिदेवों ने उसे अस्वीकार कर दिया। सती अनुसूया ने उनसे पूछा ❓: मुनियों! मुझसे कौन-सा ऐसा अपराध हो गया, जो आप लोग मेरे द्वारा की हुई पूजा को ग्रहण नहीं कर रहे हैं?
मुनियों ने कहा: देवी! यदि आप बिना वस्त्र के हमारा आतिथ्य 🎊 करें तो हम आपके यहाँ भिक्षा ग्रहण करेंगे।
यह सुनकर सती अनुसूया सोच में पड़ गयीं ⁉️। उन्होंने ध्यान लगाकर देखा तो सारा रहस्य उनकी समझ में आ गया। वे बोलीं: मैं आप लोगों का विवस्त्र होकर आतिथ्य 🙏🏻 करूँगी। यदि मैं सच्ची पतिव्रता हूँ और मैंने कभी भी काम-भाव से किसी पर-पुरुष का चिन्तन 💗 नहीं किया हो तो आप तीनों छ:-छ: माह के बच्चे बन जाएँ। पतिव्रता माता अनसूइया का इतना कहना था कि त्रिदेव छ:-छ: माह के बच्चे बन गये। माता अनुसूया ने विवस्त्र होकर उन्हें अपना स्तनपान कराया और उन्हें पालने में खेलने के लिये डाल दिया। इस प्रकार त्रिदेव माता अनुसूया के वात्सल्य प्रेम के बन्दी बन गये। उधर जब तीनों देवियों ने देखा कि हमारे पति तो आये ही नहीं तो वे चिन्तित हो गयीं। अंततः तीनों देवियाँ 🔯 अपने पतियों का पता लगाने के लिये चित्रकूट गयीं। संयोग से वहीं नारद जी से उनकी भेंट हो गयी। त्रिदेवियों ने उनसे अपने पतियों के बारे मे पूछा। नारद जी 🪕 ने कहा कि वे लोग तो आश्रम में बालक बनकर खेल रहे हैं। त्रिदेवियों ने अनुसूया जी से आश्रम में प्रवेश करने की आज्ञा माँगी 🙏🏻। अनुसूया जी ने उनसे उनका परिचय पूछा? त्रिदेवियों ने कहा: माता जी! हम तो आपकी बहुएँ हैं। आप हमें क्षमा कर दें और हमारे पतियों को लौटा दें। अनुसूया जी का हृदय द्रवित 💓 हो गया। उन्होंने बच्चों पर जल छिड़ककर उन्हें उनका पूर्व रूप प्रदान किया और अन्तत: उन त्रिदेवों की पूजा-स्तुति 🪔 की। त्रिदेवों ने प्रसन्न होकर अपने-अपने अंशों से अनुसूया के यहाँ पुत्र रूप में प्रकट होने का वरदान ✋🏻 दिया। इस प्रकार त्रिदेवों के अंश के रूप मे दत्तात्रेय जी ⚡ का जन्म हुआ।
🚩भगवान दत्तात्रेय शीघ्र कृपा करने वाले, भक्त वत्सल, भक्त के स्मरण करते ही उन पर प्रसन्न हो जाते हैं। इसीलिए इन्हें स्मृतिगामी ✨ तथा स्मृतिमात्रानुगन्ता भी कहा जाता है। दक्षिण भारत में प्रसिद्ध दत्त संप्रदाय, भगवान दत्तजी को ही अपना प्रमुख आराध्य 🌞 मानता है। महाराष्ट्र मे दत्त जयंती, देव दत्तात्रेय के अवतरण / जन्म दिवस के रूप मे बड़ी ही धूम-धाम 🎉 से मनायी जाती है। भगवान दत्तात्रेय एक समधर्मी देवता है और उन्हें त्रिमूर्ति अथार्त ब्रह्मा, विष्णु तथा महेश का अवतार 💫 माना जाता है।

If God wants to increase the fame of his devotees, then he does many types of pastimes. Shri Lakshmi ji, Mata Sati and Goddess Saraswati ji 🔯 were very proud of their husband’s fast. To destroy the pride of all the three goddesses and to increase the respect of his supreme devotee, husband and wife, Dharmacharini Anasuya, God inspired Narad ji’s mind. As a result, they reached Shri Lakshmi ji, seeing Narad ji, Lakshmi ji said: Come, Narad ji! You came after a long time. Tell me, how are you?
Narad ji said: Mother! What should I say, nothing is worth telling. This time I wandered towards Chitrakoot 🌌. There I reached the hermitage of Maharishi Atri. Mother! I became grateful after seeing Maharishi’s wife Anusuya ji. There is no wife like her in all the three worlds. Lakshmi ji was surprised at Narad ji’s words. He asked: Narad! Is he more chaste than me? Narad ji said: Mother! Not only you, no woman in all the three worlds is comparable to Sati Anusuya ⚖️ in any count. Similarly, Devarshi Narad went to Mother Parvati and Mother Saraswati and awakened the same feeling ❤🔥 towards Sati Anusuya in their mind as well. In the end, the three goddesses stubbornly urged the Tridevs to test the chastity of Sati Anusuya. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh reached the hermitage of Maharishi Atri. All the three gods were dressed as sages. At that time Maharishi Atri was not in his ashram. Sati Anusuya wanted to welcome the Tridevs who had come as guests, but the Tridevs rejected her. Sati Anusuya asked him ❓: Sages! What crime have I committed that you people are not accepting the worship done by me?
The sages said: Goddess! If you host us without clothes, we will accept alms at your place. Hearing this, Sati Anusuya got confused. When he looked carefully, he understood the whole secret. She said: I will hospitality 🙏🏻 to you people by being naked. If I am a true husband and I have never thought of any other man out of lust, then all three of you become six-month-old children. Pativrata Mata Anasuiya said this much that Tridev became children of six months each. Mother Anusuya undressed and gave her breast milk to him and put him in the cradle to play. In this way Tridev became a prisoner of Mata Anusuya’s affection. On the other hand, when the three ladies saw that our husband had not come, they became worried. Eventually the three ladies 🔯 went to Chitrakoot to find their husbands. Coincidentally, he met Narad ji there. The Tridevis asked him about their husbands. Narad ji 🪕 said that those people are playing like children in the ashram. The Tridevis sought permission from Anusuya ji to enter the ashram. Anusuya ji asked him about his introduction? The Trinity said: Mother! We are your daughters-in-law. You forgive us and return our husbands. Anusuya ji’s heart melted. He sprinkled water on the children and gave them their former form and finally worshiped and praised those trinity. Tridevs were pleased and gave a boon ✋🏻 to appear in Anusuya’s place in the form of a son from their respective parts. In this way Dattatreya ji ⚡ was born as a part of Tridevs.
🚩 Lord Dattatreya, who is quick to bless, becomes pleased with the devotee as soon as he remembers the devotee. That is why they are also called Smritigami ✨ and Smritimatranuganta. The famous Dutt sect in South India, considers Lord Duttji as its main idol 🌞. In Maharashtra, Datta Jayanti is celebrated with great fanfare 🎉 as the incarnation/birthday of Dev Dattatreya. Lord Dattatreya is a syncretic deity and is believed to be an incarnation 💫 of Trimurti i.e. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh.
