कार्तिक का महीना 9अक्टूबर से 8नवंबर तक है ।
इसे दामोदर मास भी कहते है
इसी महीने मे यशोदा मैया ने भगवान कृष्ण को रस्सी से बांधा था इस लीला के कारन ही इस मास को दामोदर मास बोलते है । दाम का अर्थ है रस्सी ओर उदर का अर्थ पेट दाम+उदर दामोदर
इस महीने मे रोज शाम को 6:30केबाद दीप दान करना चाहिए ।
भगवान कृष्ण के आगे रोज मिट्टी का नया दीपक जला कर दामोदर अष्टकम का पाठ करे जिसे दीप दान कहा जाता है
दीप को आरती की तरह भगवान के समक्ष घुमायें
फिर उस दीपक को भगवान के समक्ष ही रख दे ।
ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करे ।
इस महीने सुबह 4 बजे से 5 बजे के बीच स्नान कर ले जिसे की कार्तिक स्नान कहते है
कार्तिक मे एक बार पवित्र नदियो गंगा या यमुना मे स्नान जरूर करे।
इस महीने मे उड़द की दाल का सेवन किसी रूप में भी ना करे ।
इस महीने मे अपनी एक प्रिय खाध वस्तु का त्याग कर दे
कार्तिक अंतिम पूर्णिमा के दिन छोड़ी हुई चीज का भगवान को भोग लगा कर खाए ।
श्री मद भगवद गीता या भागवत पुराण पढ़े ।
कार्तिक दीपदान करने से अश्वमेध यज्ञ का फल प्राप्त होता है ।
हरि नाम सुने ओर करे
दीपदान करे और दीप दान करवाए
और पुण्य के भागीदार बने।
वस्त्र दान करे
दान करे
कार्तिक मे एक बार वृन्दावन , बरसाना या गोवर्धन मे दीपदान जरूर करे ।
दीप दान मे देसी घी या तिल के तेल का प्रयोग करे।

*कुबेरात्मजौ बद्धमुरत्यैव यद्वत्,*
*त्वया मोचितौ भक्तिभाजौ कृतौ च।*
*तथा प्रेमभक्तिं स्वकां मे प्रयच्छ,*
*(न मोक्षे ग्रहो मेऽस्ति दामोदरेह।।७।।*
*नमस्तेऽस्तु दाम्ने स्फुरद्दीप्तिधाम्ने,*
*त्वदीयोदरायाथ विश्वस्य धाम्ने।*
*नमो राधिकायै त्वदीय-प्रियायै,*
*(नमोऽनन्तलीलाय देवाय तुभ्यम्।।८।।*

The month of Kartik is from 9 October to 8 November. It is also called Damodar month. In this month, Yashoda Maiya had tied Lord Krishna with a rope, because of this Leela, this month is called Damodar month. Daam means rope and Udar means stomach price + Udar Damodar
In this month, the lamp should be donated every day after 6:30 in the evening.
In front of Lord Krishna, light a new earthen lamp and recite Damodar Ashtakam, which is called Deep Daan.
Rotate the lamp in front of God like an aarti Then keep that lamp in front of God.
Follow celibacy. Take bath in this month between 4 am to 5 pm, which is called Kartik Snan.
One must take a bath in the holy rivers Ganga or Yamuna once in Kartik.
Do not consume urad dal in any form in this month.
Give up one of your favorite food items in this month. On the last full moon day of Kartik, eat the thing left after offering it to God.
Read Sri Mada Bhagavad Gita or Bhagavad Purana.
