एक बहुत प्रसिद्ध लामा ने अपनी आत्मकथा में लिखा है कि जब मैं पांच वर्ष का था, तो मुझे विद्यापीठ में पढ़ने के लिए भेजा गया। रात को मेरे पिता ने मुझसे कहा तब मैं कुल पांच वर्ष का था रात को मेरे पिता ने मुझसे कहा कि कल सुबह चार बजे तुझे विद्यापीठ भेजा जाएगा। और स्मरण रहे, सुबह तेरी विदाई के लिए न तो तेरी मां होगी और न मैं मौजूद रहूंगा। मां इसलिए मौजूद नहीं रखी जा सकती कि उसकी आंखों में आंसू आ जाएंगे। और रोती हुई मां को छोड़ कर तू जाएगा तो तेरा मन पीछे की तरफ, पीछे की तरफ होता रहेगा और हमारे घर में ऐसा आदमी कभी पैदा नहीं हुआ जो पीछे की तरफ देखता हो। मैं इसलिए मौजूद नहीं रहूंगा कि अगर तूने एक भी बार घोड़े पर बैठ कर पीछे की तरफ देख लिया, तो तू फिर मेरा लड़का नहीं रह जाएगा, फिर इस घर का दरवाजा तेरे लिए बंद हो जाएगा। नौकर तुझे विदा दे देंगे सुबह। और स्मरण रहे, घोड़े पर से पीछे लौट कर मत देखना। हमारे घर में कोई ऐसा आदमी नहीं हुआ जो पीछे की तरफ लौट कर देखता हो। और अगर तूने पीछे की तरफ लौट कर देखा, तो समझ लेना इस घर से फिर तेरा कोई नाता नहीं।

पांच वर्ष के बच्चे से ऐसी अपेक्षा? पांच वर्ष का बच्चा सुबह चार बजे उठा दिया गया और घोड़े पर बिठा दिया गया। नौकरों ने उसे विदा कर दिया। चलते वक्त नौकर ने भी कहा बेटे होशियारी से! मोड़ तक दिखाई पड़ता है, पिता ऊपर से देखते हैं। मोड़ तक पीछे लौट कर मत देखना। इस घर में सब बच्चे ऐसे ही विदा हुए, लेकिन किसी ने पीछे लौट कर नहीं देखा। और जाते वक्त नौकर ने कहा कि तुम जहां भेजे जा रहे हो वह विद्यापीठ साधारण नहीं है। वहां देश के जो श्रेष्ठतम पुरुष……उस विद्यापीठ से पैदा होते हैं। वहां बड़ी कठिन परीक्षा होगी प्रवेश की। तो चाहे कुछ भी हो जाए, हर कोशिश करना कि उस प्रवेशपरीक्षा में प्रविष्ट हो जाओ। क्योंकि वहां से असफल हो गए तो इस घर में तुम्हारे लिए कोई जगह नहीं रह जाएगी।

पांच वर्ष का लड़का, उसके साथ ऐसी कठोरता! वह घोड़े पर बैठ गया और उसने अपनी आत्मकथा में लिखा है कि मेरी आंखों में आंसू भरने लगे, लेकिन पीछे लौट कर कैसे देख सकता हूं उस घर को, पिता को……जिस घर को छोड़ कर जाना पड़ रहा है मुझे अनजान में। इतना छोटा हूं। लेकिन लौट कर नहीं देखा जा सकता, क्योंकि मेरे घर में कभी किसी ने लौट कर नहीं देखा। और अगर पिता ने देख लिया तो फिर इस घर से हमेशा के लिए वंचित हो जाऊंगा, इसीलिए कड़ी हिम्मत रखी और आगे की तरफ देखता रहा, पीछे लौट कर नहीं देखा।

वह स्कूल में पहुंच गया। पांच वर्ष का छोटा सा बच्चा, उसकी क्या सामर्थ्य और क्या हैसियत! स्कूल के प्रधान ने, विद्यापीठ के प्रधान ने कहा कि यहां की प्रवेशपरीक्षा कठिन है। दरवाजे पर आंख बंद करके बैठ जाओ और जब तक मैं वापस न आऊं तब तक आंख मत खोलना, चाहे कुछ भी हो जाए। यही तुम्हारी प्रवेशपरीक्षा है। अगर तुमने आंख खोल ली तो हम वापस लौटा देंगे, क्योंकि जिसका अपने ऊपर इतना भी बल नहीं है कि कुछ देर तक आंख बंद किए बैठा रहे, वह और क्या सीख सकेगा? उसके सीखने का दरवाजा खत्म हो गया, बंद हो गया। फिर तुम उस काम के लायक नहीं हो, फिर तुम जाकर और कुछ करना। पांच वर्ष के छोटे से बच्चे को…!

वह बैठ गया दरवाजे पर आंख बंद करके। मक्खियां उसे सताने लगीं, लेकिन आंख खोल कर नहीं देखना है, क्योंकि आंख खोल कर देखा तो मामला खत्म हो जाएगा। छोटे मोटे जो दूसरे बच्चे स्कूल में आ जा रहे हैं, कोई उसे धक्का देने लगा है, कोई उसको परेशान करने लगा है, लेकिन आंख खोल कर नहीं देखना है, क्योंकि आंख खोल कर देखा तो मामला फिर खराब हो जाएगा। और नौकरों ने आते वक्त कहा है कि अगर प्रवेशपरीक्षा में असफल हो गए तो यह घर भी तुम्हारा नहीं।

एक घंटा बीत गया, दो घंटे बीत गए, वह आंख बंद किए बैठा है और डरा हुआ है कि कहीं भूल से भी आंख न खुल जाए और आंख खोलने के सब टेम्पटेशन मौजूद हैं वहां। रास्ता चल रहा है, बच्चे निकल रहे हैं, मक्खियां सता रही हैं, कोई बच्चे उसे धक्के देते जा रहे हैं, कोई बच्चा कंकड़ मार रहा है। और उसे आंख खोलने का सब मन होता है कि देखे……कि अब तक गुरु नहीं आया। एक घंटा, दो घंटा, तीन घंटा, चार घंटा—उसने लिखा है कि छह घंटे!

और छह घंटे बाद गुरु आया और उसने कहा बेटे, तेरी प्रवेशपरीक्षा पूरी हो गई। तू भीतर आ, तू संकल्पवान युवक बनेगा। तेरे भीतर संकल्प है, तेरे भीतर विल है, तू जो चाहे कर सकता है। पांच छह घंटे इस उम्र में आंख बंद करके बैठना बड़ी बात है। उसने उसे छाती से लगा लिया और उसने उसे कहा तू हैरान मत होना, वे बच्चे तुझे सताने नहीं.. सता नहीं रहे थे, वे बच्चे भेजे गए थे। उन्हें कहा गया था कि तुझे थोड़ा परेशान करेंगे ताकि तेरा आंख खोलने का खयाल आ जाए।

उस लामा ने लिखा है. उस वक्त तो मैं सोचता था मेरे साथ बड़ी कठोरता बरती जा रही है, लेकिन अब जीवन के अंत में मैं धन्यवाद से भरा हूं उन लोगों के प्रति जो मेरे प्रति कठोर थे। उन्होंने मेरे भीतर कुछ सोई हुई चीजें पैदा कर दीं, कोई सोया हुआ बल जग गया।

लेकिन हम उलटा कर रहे हैं—बच्चे को डांटना भी मत, मारना भी मत!

Such expectation from a five -year -old child? The five -year -old child was lifted at four in the morning and placed on the horse. The servants sent him away. While walking, the servant also said to the son smart! It appears till the turn, the father looks at the top. Do not look back to the turn. All the children in this house departed like this, but no one has seen back. And while leaving, the servant said that the school where you are being sent is not ordinary. There, the best men of the country are born from that school. There will be a very difficult examination of admission. Whatever happens, every effort to enter that entrance examination. Because if you fail from there, there will be no place for you in this house.

Five year old boy, such rigor with him! He sat on the horse and he wrote in his autobiography that I started tearing in my eyes, but how can I see that house, father… I have to leave the house which I have to leave. I am so small But cannot be seen returning, because no one in my house ever looked back. And if the father has seen it, then I will be deprived of this house forever, so kept the courage and looking forward, did not see it back.

Anything is being produced within this child. Any resolution is being raised within this child, which will strengthen its nucleus. This father is not harsh, this father is full of love. There is a resolution within you, there is a will you do, you can do whatever you want. It is a big deal to sit with eyes closed at this age five and six hours. He took him to the chest and he told him that you do not be surprised, those children were not harassing you .. Those children were sent. He was told that he would bother you a little so that you would think of opening your eye.

That lama has written. At that time, I used to think that there is a lot of strictness with me, but now at the end of my life, I am full of thanks to those who were harsh towards me. They created some sleeping things within me, some sleeping force woke up.

But we are reversing – do not even scold the child, do not even kill!

And right now the carporal punishment has been completely closed all over the world. The child cannot be hurt, no physical punishment can be given. This is a very stupid thing, because the children who could not be given any kind of punishment – the word was extremely loving, was not enmity with the children – because some centers sleeping within them were awake under them.
