नासमझ बेटा
एक था बूढ़ा पाला, जिंदगीके अनुभवोंसे समझदार । उसका एक जवान बेटा था, बापके बिलकुल विपरीत, नासमझ, शेखीखोर पाला। उस जवान पालेको घमण्ड था कि वह अपने प्रभावके कारण सबको ठण्डसे अकड़ा सकता है। एक बार उसने एक अमीर जागीरदारको ठण्डसे बीमार कर दिया था। जागीरदार बग्घीमें बैठा जा रहा था। गरम कपड़ोंसे लदा-फँदा, पर जवान पालेके कारण वह ठण्ड से सिकुड़ गया, अकड़ गया। जवान पाला पिताके पास जाकर बोला- ‘देखा ! उस पहलवान से जागीरदारको मैंने कैसे ठण्डसे अकड़ा दिया। ‘
पिता बेटेकी नासमझीपर हँस पड़ा। बोला ‘तू नासमझ है। भले ही तूने उस मोटे जागीरदारको ठण्डसे अकड़ा दिया, पर उस किसानको ठण्डसे अकड़ा दे तो जानूँ ।’
जवान पालेने देखा, एक मरियल-सा किसान फटा-पुराना कोट पहने घोड़ेकी स्लेजपर चला जा रहा था। वह तुरंत उड़ता हुआ उसके पास जा पहुँचा। उसने चारों ओरसे उसपर हमला बोल दिया। पर किसान रुका नहीं। अब जवान पालेने किसानके पैरोंमें चुटकियाँ काटनी शुरू कर दीं। किसान स्लेजसे उतर गया और घोड़े के साथ-साथ दौड़ने लगा।
जवान पाला परेशान हो उठा। उसने सोचा, जंगलमें इसे ठण्डसे अकड़ा दूँगा । किसानने जंगलमें पहुँचकर एक पेड़पर कुल्हाड़ी चलानी शुरू कर दी। अब जवान पाला पूरी ताकतसे किसानको परेशान करने लगा। जवान पालेने किसानको ठण्डसे जितना परेशान करनेकी कोशिश की, उसने उतने ही ज्यादा जोर-शोर से कुल्हाड़ी चलायी और कई वृक्ष काट डाले। वह पसीने पसीने हो गया। उसने अपने दस्ताने उतार दिये। जवान पाला निराश होकर स्लेजकी ओर भागा और किसानके दस्ताने पड़े देखकर उनमें जा घुसा। ठण्डके कारण चमड़े के दस्ताने अकड़ गये। किसानने घर लौटनेकी तैयारी की। मगर वे पत्थरकी तरह सख्त थे। जवान पाला हँसा। जब किसानसे यह देखा कि दस्ताने ठण्डसे अकड़ गये हैं तो उसने कुल्हाड़ी लेकर उनपर चोट करना शुरू कर दिया। चोटोंके कारण पालेको रुलाई आने लगी। वह निकलकर भागा। बूढ़ा पाला उसकी दशापर हँस पड़ा और बोला- ‘बेटे! आरामतलब लोगोंको तुम आसानीसे सता सकते हो, पर मेहनती लोगोंके आगे किसी मुसीबतकी नहीं चलती।’ [ श्रीप्रभातजी ]
mindless son
One was an old man brought up, wise by life’s experiences. He had a young son, quite the opposite of his father, brought up as a mindless, braggart. That young man was proud that he could make everyone freeze due to his influence. Once he made a rich Jagirdar sick with cold. The Jagirdar was being seated in the wagon. Wrapped up in warm clothes, but the young man shrank due to cold and became stiff. The young man went to his foster father and said – ‘ See! How did I coldly stiffen the vassal from that wrestler. ,
The father laughed at the son’s ignorance. Said ‘ you are mindless. Even if you made that fat Jagirdar stiff with cold, but if you make that farmer stiff with cold, I would know.’
The young man saw, a sickly farmer wearing a tattered coat was going on a horse sled. He immediately reached him flying. He attacked him from all sides. But the farmer did not stop. Now the young man has started pinching the feet of the farmer. The farmer got down from the sledge and started running along with the horse.
Jawan Pala got upset. He thought, I will freeze him in the forest. The farmer reached the forest and started using an ax on a tree. Now Jawan Pala started troubling the farmer with all his might. The more the young man tried to trouble the farmer with the cold, the more loudly he used his ax and cut down many trees. He got sweaty. He took off his gloves. Frustrated, young Pala ran towards the sledge and, seeing the farmer’s gloves lying there, entered them. The leather gloves stiffened due to the cold. The farmer made preparations to return home. But he was hard as a stone. Young Pala laughed. When he saw from the farmer that the gloves were stiff from the cold, he took an ax and started hitting them. Paleko started crying because of the injuries. He came out and ran. Old Pala laughed at his condition and said – ‘ Son! You can easily harass people who are comfortable, but there is no trouble in front of hardworking people.’ [Shri Prabhatji]
