दयासे बादशाही

एक व्यक्ति शिकारके लिये जंगलमें गया। वहाँ उसने एक हरिनीको देखा। उसके साथ छोटा बच्चा था। शिकारी दौड़ा, हरिनी तो डरकर जंगलमें छिप गयी। बच्चा पकड़ा गया। शिकारी बच्चेको लेकर चला तब हरिनी भी निकल आयी और बच्चेके स्नेहवश वह भी पीछे-पीछे चलने लगी। शिकारीने कुछ दूर आनेके बाद पीछे की ओर मुड़कर देखा। हरिनीकी आँखोंसे आँसुओंकी धारा बह रही थी और वह पीछेपीछे चली आ रही थी। शिकारी अपने गाँवके समीप आ गया। तब भी हरिनी उसी प्रकार रोती चली आ रही थी। उसको दया आ गयी। उसने बच्चेको छोड़ दिया। बच्चा छूटते ही छलाँग मारकर माँके पास पहुँचा। हरिनी मूक आशीर्वाद देती हुई बच्चेको लेकर लौट गयी। रातको शिकारीने स्वप्रमें देखा – कोई कह रहा है, ‘इस दयाके फलस्वरूप तुम्हें बादशाही मिलेगी।’ वही आगे चलकर गजनीका बादशाह हुआ।

A man went to the forest for hunting. There he saw a deer. He had a small child with him. The hunter ran, the deer got scared and hid in the forest. The child was caught. When the hunter took the child, the deer also came out and out of affection for the child, she also started following him. The hunter looked back after coming some distance. Streams of tears were flowing from Harini’s eyes and she was following behind. The hunter came near his village. Even then Harini was crying like that. He got pity. He left the child. As soon as the child was released, it jumped and reached its mother. Giving silent blessings, Harini returned with the child. At night the hunter saw in his dream – someone is saying, ‘You will get the kingdom as a result of this kindness.’ He later became the king of Ghazni.
