Bahad, the son of Udayan, the chief minister of the Pattan kingdom, wanted to fulfill the unfulfilled wish of his late father by reviving Shatrunjayatirtha of the Jains. When the work of pilgrimage started, the people also prayed to the minister – ‘You are capable; But give us also an opportunity to participate in this virtuous work. The prayer of the people was accepted. The one who had as much power and faith, he gave that much money. When the pilgrimage was saved and the list of those who gave financial aid was announced, then those who gave lakhs of rupees were astonished. The first name was that of a laborer named Bhima and he had helped only seven paise.
The minister targeted the anger of the rich people. They said – ‘Brothers! Whatever I myself and all of you have given for the salvation of the pilgrimage, I have given only a part of my wealth. But Bhima was able to save seven paise after working hard for many days. He has donated his everything. His donation is the biggest donation, haven’t I made a mistake in deciding this?’ Everyone had bowed their heads. Not even a single person turned out to be able to oppose it. – Su 0 Sin 0
