हितैषी मित्रका त्याग न करें
एक स्थानपर कुछ भेड़ें चरा करती थीं। कुछ बलवान् कुत्ते वहाँ उनकी रखवाली किया करते थे। भेड़िये उन कुत्तोंके भयसे उन भेड़ोंपर आक्रमण नहीं कर पाते थे। एक बार भेड़ियोंने आपसमें सलाह की कि इन कुत्तोंके रहते हुए हमलोग कुछ नहीं कर सकेंगे; कोई युक्ति निकालकर इन्हें दूर हटाये बिना हमारा काम नहीं चलेगा। अतः कोई ऐसा उपाय करना होगा, जिससे ये भेड़ोंके पाससे चले जायें।
ऐसा निश्चय करके उन भेड़ियोंने भेड़ोंके पास संदेशा भेजा कि आओ, हमलोग अब आपसमें सन्धि कर लें; क्यों हम चिरकालतक आपसमें विवाद करते हुए मरें! जो कुत्ते तुम लोगोंकी रक्षा करते हैं, वे ही सारे विवादोंकी जड़ हैं। वे लोग निरन्तर चिल्लाते रहते हैं, इसीसे हम लोगोंको बड़ा क्रोध आता है। उन लोगोंका साथ छोड़ दो, तो फिर चिरकालतक हम लोगोंके बीच आपसी सद्भाव बना रहेगा।
अबोध भेड़ोंने इस भुलावेमें आकर कुत्तोंसे नाता तोड़ लिया। इस प्रकार उनके रक्षकरहित हो जानेके बाद भेड़ियोंने सहज ही उन्हें मारकर यथेच्छ रूपमें पेट भरना आरम्भ कर दिया। शत्रुकी बातोंमें आकर अपने हितैषी मित्रको त्याग देनेसे निश्चितरूपसे संकट आता है।
don’t give up on a friendly friend
Some sheep used to graze at one place. Some strong dogs used to guard them there. Wolves could not attack those sheep because of the fear of those dogs. Once the wolves consulted among themselves that we would not be able to do anything with these dogs; Our work will not be done without finding some way to remove them away. Therefore, some such remedy has to be done, so that they go away from the sheep.
With this determination, those wolves sent a message to the sheep that come, let us make a treaty with each other; Why should we die arguing with each other forever! The dogs who protect you are the root of all disputes. They keep shouting continuously, because of which we get very angry. Leave the company of those people, then there will be mutual harmony between us forever.
Innocent sheep fell into this delusion and broke away from the dogs. In this way, after they became defenseless, the wolves easily started killing them and filling their stomachs as per their wish. Abandoning your benevolent friend by coming in the words of the enemy definitely leads to trouble.
