माता-पिता म्हारा तीर्थ गया नै जाणै कद बै आवैला, जिमों म्हारा श्याम धणी थानै जिमावै करमा बेटी जाट की ।
थाळी भरकर ल्याई रै खीचड़ो ऊपर घी री बाटकी
जिमों म्हारा श्याम धणी जिमावै करमा बेटी जाट की!
ग्राम कालवा में एक जीवणराम जी डूडी (जाट) हुए थे भगवान कृष्ण के भक्त!जीवणराम जी की काफी मन्नतों के बाद भगवान के आशीर्वाद से उनकी पत्नी रत्नी देवी की कोख से वर्ष 1615 मे में एक पुत्री का जन्म हुआ नाम रखा करमा।
करमा का लालन-पालन बाल्यकाल से ही धार्मिक परिवेश में हुआ था।माता पिता दोनों भगवान कृष्ण के अनन्य भक्त थे घर में ठाकुर जी की मूर्ति थी जिसमें रोज़ भोग लगता भजन-कीर्तन होता था….।
करमा जब 13 वर्ष की हुई तब उसके माता-पिता कार्तिक पूर्णिमा स्नान के लिए समीप ही पुष्कर जी गए करमा को साथ इसलिए नहीं ले गए कि घर की देखभाल, गाय भैंस को दुहना निरना कौन करेगा।रोज़ प्रातः ठाकुर जी के भोग लगाने की ज़िम्मेदारी भी करमा को दी गयी ….
अगले दिन प्रातः नन्हीं करमा बाईसा ने ठाकुर जी को भोग लगाने हेतु खीचड़ा बनाया (बाजरे से बना मारवाड़ का एक शानदार व्यंजन) और उसमें खूब सारा गुड़ व घी डाल के ठाकुर जी के आगे भोग हेतु रखा ….!
करमा;- ल्यो ठाकुर जी आप भोग लगाओ
तब तक म्हें घर रो काम करूँ ….!
करमा घर का काम करने लगी व बीच बीच में आ के देखती थी । कि ठाकुर जी ने भोग लगाया या नहीं,लेकिन खीचड़ा जस का तस पड़ा रहा दोपहर हो गयी ….!
*करमा को लगा खीचड़े में कोई कमी रह गयी,
*होगी वो बार बार खीचड़े में घी व गुड़ डालने लगी,*
दोपहर को करमा बाईसा ने व्याकुलता से कहा ठाकुर जीभोग लगा ल्यो नहीं तो म्हे भी आज भूखी रहूं लां
शाम हो गयी ठाकुर जी ने भोग नहीं लगाया इधर नन्हीं करमा भूख से व्याकुल होने लगी और बार बार ठाकुर जी की मनुहार करने लगी भोग लगाने को ।नन्हीं करमा की अरदास सुन के ठाकुर जी की मूर्ति से साक्षात भगवान श्री-कृष्ण प्रकट हुए और बोले +करमा तूँ म्हारे परदो तो करयो ही नहीं म्हें भोग क्यां लगातो ?? ….
करमा;- ओह्ह इत्ती सी बात तो थे (आप)
मन्ने तड़के ही बोल देता भगवान
करमा अपनी लुंकड़ी (ओढ़नी) की ओट (परदा) करती है और हाथ से पंखा झिलाती है ।करमा की लुंकड़ी की ओट में ठाकुर जी खीचड़ा खा के अंतर्ध्यान हो जाते हैं ।करमा का ये नित्यक्रम बन गया!
माता-पिता जब पुष्कर जी से तीर्थ कर के वापस आते हैं तो देखते हैं गुड़ का भरा मटका खाली होने के कगार पे है पूछताछ में करमा कहती है।हमने नहीं खायो गुड़ ओ गुड़ तो म्हारा ठाकुर जी खायो।
माता-पिता सोचते हैं करमा ही ने गुड़
खाया है अब झूठ बोल रही है ….
अगले दिन सुबह करमा फिर खीचड़ा बना के ठाकुर जी का आह्वान करती है तो ठाकुर जी प्रकट हो के खीचड़े का भोग लगाते हैं ।माता-पिता यह दृश्य देखते ही आवाक रह जाते हैं ।देखते ही देखते करमा की ख्याति सम्पूर्ण मारवाड़ व राजस्थान में फैल गयी ….।*
जगन्नाथपुरी के पुजारियों को जब मालूम चला कि मारवाड़ के नागौर में मकराणा के कालवा गांव में रोज़ ठाकुर जी पधार के करमा के हाथ से खीचड़ा जीमते हैं तो वो करमा को पूरी बुला लेते हैं ….
करमा अब जगन्नाथपुरी में खीचड़ा बना के ठाकुर जी के भोग लगाने लगी ।ठाकुर जी पधारते व करमा की लुंकड़ी की ओट में खीचड़ा जीम के अंतर्ध्यान हो जाते!बाद मे करमा बाईसा का जगन्नाथपुरी में ही देहावसान हो गया।
(1) जगन्नाथपुरी में ठाकुर जी को नित्य 6 भोग लगते हैं।इसमें ठाकुर जी को तड़के प्रथम भोग करमा रसोई में बना खीचड़ा आज भी रोज़ लगता है ….!
(2) जगन्नाथपुरी में ठाकुर जी के मंदिर में कुल 7 मूर्तियां लगी है ! 5 मूर्तियां ठाकुर जी के परिवार की है । 1 मूर्ति सुदर्शन चक्र की है । 1 मूर्ति करमा बाईसा की है ….।
(3) जगन्नाथपुरी रथयात्रा में रथ में ठाकुर जी की मूर्ति के समीप करमा बाईसा की मूर्ति विद्यमान रहती है। बिना करमा बाईसा की मूर्ति रथ में रखे रथ अपनी जगह से हिलता भी नहीं है ….!

Nagaur is a district of Marwar province. Nagaur There is a small town in the district, Makrana.
There is a famous bhajan of Marwar….! , Parents did not go to my pilgrimage, I do not know how tall I am, where my Shyam Dhani Thanai Jimavai Karma daughter of Jat.
Brought a plate full, spread ghee on top Jimo my Shyam Dhani Jimavai Karma daughter of Jat!
In village Kalwa, one Jivanram ji Dudi (Jat) was a devotee of Lord Krishna! After many vows of Jivanram ji, with the blessings of God, a daughter was born in the year 1615 from the womb of his wife Ratni Devi, who was named Karma.
Karma was brought up in a religious environment right from his childhood. Both his parents were ardent devotees of Lord Krishna. There was an idol of Thakur ji in the house, in which bhajan-kirtan was offered daily.
When Karma was 13 years old, her parents went to Pushkar near Kartik Purnima for bath but did not take Karma with them because who would take care of the house, milk the cows and buffaloes. Responsibility of offering food to Thakur ji every morning Karma was also given….
The next morning, little Karma Baisa made Khichda (a wonderful dish of Marwar made of millet) to be offered to Thakur ji, and put a lot of jaggery and ghee in it and put it in front of Thakur ji for enjoyment….!
Karma;- Thakur ji, please enjoy Till then I should work at home….! Karma started doing household chores and used to come and see in between. Whether Thakur ji offered bhog or not, but the porridge remained as it was, it is afternoon….!
Karma felt that there was something missing in the porridge. *She must have started pouring ghee and jaggery in the porridge again and again*
In the afternoon, Karma Baisa said with distraught Thakur Jibhog, otherwise I will also remain hungry today.
It was evening, Thakur ji did not offer bhog, whereas little Karma started getting distraught with hunger and started begging Thakur ji again and again to offer bhog. After listening to little Karma’s prayer, Lord Krishna appeared in front of Thakur ji’s statue and said + If you don’t do my deeds, then why should you enjoy me?? ,
Karma; God would have spoken to me early in the morning
Karma covers her cloak (curtain) and swings a fan with her hand. Thakur ji eats khichda in the cover of Karma’s cloak and becomes introspective. This has become a routine of Karma!
When parents come back from pilgrimage to Pushkar ji, they see that the pot full of jaggery is on the verge of getting empty. Karma says in inquiry.
Parents think that Karma has created jaggery. Has eaten now is lying….
The next day in the morning, Karma again calls for Thakur ji after making porridge, then Thakur ji appears and offers porridge. Parents are speechless on seeing this scene. Karma’s fame spread all over Marwar and Rajasthan. Gone…..*
When the priests of Jagannathpuri came to know that every day Thakur ji comes to Kalwa village of Makrana in Nagaur of Marwar and eats khichda from the hands of Karma, they call Karma Puri….
Karma now started making porridge in Jagannathpuri and offering it to Thakur ji. When Thakur ji used to come and Karma’s luncheon covered the porridge, Jim would disappear! Later Karma Baisa died in Jagannathpuri itself.
(1) In Jagannathpuri, Thakur ji gets 6 bhog daily. Thakur ji gets the first bhog early in the morning, the porridge made in the kitchen even today….!
(2) A total of 7 idols are installed in the temple of Thakur ji in Jagannathpuri. 5 idols belong to Thakur ji’s family. 1 idol is of Sudarshan Chakra. 1 The idol is of Karma Baisa….
(3) In Jagannathpuri Rath Yatra, the idol of Karma Baisa is present near the idol of Thakur ji in the chariot. Without the idol of Karma Baisa placed in the chariot, the chariot does not even move from its place….!
