सीता नवमी की आप सबको बहुत बहुत बधाई….

दक्षिण भारत में मदुरान्तक एक प्रसिद्ध स्थान है।इसका प्राचीन नाम बकुलारण्य है।यहाँ प्रसिद्ध राम मंदिर के बराबर में ही जानकी माता का मंदिर है।जानकी माता मंदिर के निर्माण-चमत्कार से एक अंग्रेज़ की अटूट श्रद्धा जुड़ी हुई है। लायन्स प्लेस भारी व्यय और भरपूर अच्छी से तकनीक से नदी पर बाँध बनवाता था, किन्तु प्रति वर्ष बरसात के मौसम में बाँध को बचाने के अनेक प्रयत्नों के उपरांत भी बाँध टूट जाता था।लायन्स प्लेस बहुत परेशान था।

एक दिन गाँव के एक वैष्णव ने उससे जानकी माता के छोटे से मंदिर को कुछ बड़ा बनवा देने का आग्रह किया। लायन्स प्लेस ने व्यंग्य करते हुये कहा- “तुम्हारी जानकी माता पर बड़ी श्रद्धा है, किन्तु वह तुम्हारे लिये करती ही क्या है? बाँध को टूटने से बचा कर वह तुम्हारा हित तो करती नहीं? यदि इस वर्ष तुम्हारी जानकी माता बाँध को टूटने से बचा लेंगी तो जानकी माता का मंदिर मैं बनवाऊँगा।”

पुनः बाँध बनवाया गया, यह सन 1778 की घटना है। अन्य वर्षों की अपेक्षा इस बहुत अधिक, भयानक वर्षा हुई। बाँध ऊपर तक भर गया था, मूसलाधार वर्षा रुकने का नाम ही नहीं ले रही थी। एक प्रकार से त्राहि-त्राहि का मौसम था।

लायन्स प्लेस को पूरा यक़ीन था कि इतनी भयानक वर्षा में बाँध तो कब का टूट कर बह चुका होगा। वह अपनी जान जोखिम में डाल कर उसी भयानक मौसम में बाँध को देखने निकल पड़े। वहाँ जाकर देखा को उस दृश्य को देख कर उनकी आँखें फटी की फटी रह गई।

उन्होंने देखा कि एक विशालकाय बंदर रूपी मानव अपने दोनों विशाल हाथों से बाँध को मज़बूती से थामें हुये है और दो ज्योतिर्मय युवक,एक श्याम वर्ण,एक ग़ौर वर्ण- धनुष वाण लिये उस बाँध पर इधर से उधर घूम रहे हैं। बाँध पूरी तरह सुरक्षित है,तनिक भी क्षतिग्रस्त नहीं। एकाएक लायन्स प्लेस के दोनों हाथ प्रणाम की मुद्रा में जुड़ गये।

उन्होंने लौट कर गाँव वालों को सारी बातें बताई। जय जय कारें गूँज उठे। गाँव वालों ने उन्हें बताया कि श्याम वर्ण युवक हमारी सीता माता के पति हैं और ग़ौर वर्ण युवक हमारी सीता मैया के देवर हैं एवं यह बंदर रूपी मानव हमारे हनुमान जी और हमारी सीता मैया के पुत्र-तुल्य सेवक हैं। आश्चर्यचकित रह

अगले ही दिन से लायन्स प्लेस ने सीता माता का मंदिर बनवाना प्रारम्भ कर दिया। उसके बाद वह बाँध बरसात के मौसम में कभी नहीं टूटा।इस मंदिर के दर्शन हमने किये हैं।

Madurantak is a famous place in South India. Its ancient name is Bakularanya. There is a temple of Janaki Mata, just next to the famous Ram temple. An Englishman has an unwavering faith attached to the miracle of the construction of the Janaki Mata temple. Lions Place used to build a dam on the river with great expense and very good technology, but every year in the rainy season, the dam used to break even after many efforts to save the dam. Lions Place was very upset.

One day a Vaishnav of the village urged him to make the small temple of Janaki Mata bigger. Lion’s Place sarcastically said- “Your Janaki Mata has great faith, but what does she do for you? Doesn’t she do your good by saving the dam from breaking? If this year your Janaki Mata saves the dam from breaking, If you take it, I will get the temple of Janaki Mata built.”

The dam was built again, this is the incident of 1778. Compared to other years, it rained heavily, terribly. The dam was filled up to the top, the torrential rain was not taking the name of stopping. In a way, it was the season of trahi-trahi.

Lions Place was quite sure that the dam would have been washed away long ago in such heavy rains. Risking his life, he went out to see the dam in the same terrible weather. After going there, seeing that scene, his eyes were filled with tears.

He saw that a giant monkey-like human being was holding the dam firmly with both his huge hands and two luminous youths, one of dark complexion, one of fair complexion, were roaming around on that dam with bows and arrows. The dam is completely safe, not damaged at all. Suddenly both the hands of Lion’s Place joined in the gesture of salutation.

He returned and told everything to the villagers. Jai Jai cars echoed. The villagers told them that the dark-skinned youth is the husband of our mother Sita and the fair-skinned youth is the brother-in-law of our mother Sita, and this monkey-like human is the son-like servant of our Hanuman ji and our mother Sita. be surprised Gaya British Officer Lions Place.

From the very next day, Lions Place started the construction of Sita Mata’s temple. After that the dam never broke during the rainy season. We have visited this temple.
