ओ खाटु वाले बाबा,
मुझे तेरा आसरा है ।
तुझ बिन बता साँवरिया,
मेरा कौन सहारा है ।।

जग रंग मंच है ये,
किरदार हैं अनेकों,
जब वक़्त आये छोटा,
इन्हें आजमा के देखो,
ढूंढे नही वो मिलते,
सब करते किनारा हैं ।।

ऊँगली पकड़ के चलना,
जिनको कभी सिखाया,
मेरे घर को देख जलता,
हर शख़्श मुस्कुराया,
फिर देख करके कहते,
ये कैसा बेचारा है ।।

जिन पर मुझे यकीं था,
ठोकर उन्ही से खाई,
अब श्यामकृपा पाकर,
जीवन मे खुशियां आई,
‘गोपाल’ श्याम भजले,
ये नाम पियारा है ।।
