जब प्रेम सच्चा हो, तो भगवान स्वयं वस्त्र पहनने आते हैं।
त्रिपुरदास जी ब्रजभूमि के शेरगढ़ में एक राजा के मंत्री के पुत्र थे। बचपन से ही उनका हृदय श्रीकृष्ण की भक्ति में अनुरक्त था। एक दिन अपने पिता के साथ गिरिराज गोवर्धन की यात्रा पर गए और वहाँ उन्होंने श्रीनाथजी (कृष्ण का वल्लभ सम्प्रदाय रूप) का दर्शन किया। उसी क्षण उनके जीवन का मार्ग बदल गया — वे श्रीनाथजी के प्रेम में खो गए।
🙏 पिता की मृत्यु और जीवन में तूफान
यात्रा से लौटने के बाद, विरोधियों ने उनके पिता की हत्या कर दी। सारा वैभव, सम्पत्ति और मान-सम्मान छिन गया। लेकिन त्रिपुरदास जी का प्रेम श्रीनाथजी से कभी नहीं डिगा।
वे वल्लभाचार्य जी के शरण में गए और भक्ति की दीक्षा ली। तभी उन्होंने एक व्रत लिया —
“हर साल शीत ऋतु में मैं श्रीनाथजी के लिए अंगरखा (गर्म वस्त्र) भेजूंगा, चाहे मेरी परिस्थिति कैसी भी हो।”
व्रत की परीक्षा – प्रेम की कसौटी
एक वर्ष, वे अत्यंत निर्धन हो गए। घर में कुछ नहीं था, लेकिन व्रत निभाना था। उन्होंने अपनी लोहे की दावात (स्याही की बोतल) बेचकर एक रूपया में मोटा लाल कपड़ा खरीदा। उसे धोया, सुखाया और एक सेवक के हाथ श्रीनाथजी को अर्पित किया।
वे सेवक से बोले —
मेरी गरीबी का जिक्र मत करना, बस ये कपड़ा प्रभु को अर्पित कर देना।
कपड़ा मंदिर में पहुंचा, लेकिन उसे अन्य सुंदर पोशाकों के नीचे रख दिया गया। पुजारियों ने उसे साधारण जानकर स्वीकार नहीं किया।
श्रीनाथजी की लीला प्रारंभ
उसी रात श्रीनाथजी ने पुजारी से कहा —
मुझे बहुत ठंड लग रही है।
अंगीठियाँ जलाई गईं, गरम पोशाकें पहनाई गईं — लेकिन ठंड कम न हुई।
पुजारियों ने अंगीठियाँ जलाईं। रेशमी वस्त्रों में लपेटा। ऊन के गर्म पोशाक पहनाए। लेकिन ठंड कम नहीं हुई।
प्रेम की परीक्षा शुरू होती हैं।
अगले दिन ठंडी बहुत थी। श्रीनाथजी ने पुजारियों से कहा
मुझे बहुत ठंड लग रही है।
विट्ठलनाथजी को स्वप्न हुआ —
एक वस्त्र जो अलमारी में नीचे दबा पड़ा है, प्रेम से भेजा गया है, वह मुझे दो।
उन्होंने तुरंत उस लाल मोटे कपड़े को मंगवाया, और उसी से श्रीनाथजी के लिए अंगरखा बनवाया।
जब वो वस्त्र भगवान को पहनाया गया, तो श्रीनाथजी ने आँखें बंद करके मुस्कुराते हुए कहा,
तब विट्ठलनाथजी (वल्लभाचार्य जी के पुत्र) को संकेत हुआ और वे उस कपड़ों के ढेर में छिपा लाल कपड़ा ढूंढ लाए। उसी से अंगरखा बनवाया गया और जैसे ही श्रीनाथजी ने उसे धारण किया —
मुस्कुरा उठे और बोले अब मेरी ठंड दूर हो गई।
प्रेम की विजय
उस दिन श्रीनाथजी ने पूरी सभा में कहा —
इस वस्त्र में धन नहीं, प्रेम की गर्मी है — और मुझे वही चाहिए।
प्रेम धन से नहीं, सच्चे हृदय से अर्पण करें
व्रत जब व्रत प्रेम से हो, तो ईश्वर स्वयं उसे निभाते हैं
त्याग सच्चे भक्त वैभव नहीं, सेवा चाहते हैं
लीला भगवान भक्त की भावनाओं के पीछे छिपे प्रेम को पहचानते हैं
त्रिपुरदास जी ने जो अर्पित किया, उसमें केवल प्रेम था — और वही प्रभु को सबसे प्रिय लगा।
सच्ची भक्ति दौलत से नहीं, दया और भावना से होती है।
भक्त का प्रेम, ईश्वर की मुस्कान
यह प्रसंग हमें सिखाता है कि जब हमारा प्रेम सच्चा हो, तो भगवान उसी में सुख पाते हैं — भले ही वह एक साधारण कपड़ा हो।
जय श्रीनाथजी। जय श्री वल्लभ। जय त्रिपुरदास जी की प्रेम भक्ति!
When love is true, God himself comes to wear clothes.
Tripurdas ji was the son of a king’s minister in Shergarh, Brajbhoomi. Since childhood, his heart was attached to Sri Krishna’s devotion. One day Giriraj went on a visit to Govardhan with his father and there he visited Srinathji (Vallabh Sampradaya form of Krishna). At that very moment the path of his life changed – he was lost in the love of Shrinathji.
🙏 Father’s death and storm in life After returning from the journey, his father was killed by opponents. All splendor, property and honor were lost. But Tripurdas ji’s love never delayed with Shrinathji.
He went to Vallabhacharya’s shelter and took initiation of devotion. Then he took a fast – “Every year in winter, I will send tunic (warm clothes) to Srinathji, no matter what my situation is.”
Fasting Examination – Test of love One year, they became extremely poor. There was nothing in the house, but the fast was to be performed. He bought a thick red cloth for a rupee by selling his iron claim (ink bottle). He washed, dried and offered a servant to Shrinathji.
He spoke to the servant – Do not mention my poverty, just offer this cloth to the Lord.
The cloth reached the temple, but was placed under other beautiful dresses. The priests did not accept him as simple.
Shrinathji’s Leela Starts The same night, Shrinathji told the priest – I feel very cold.
Axis were lit, hot dresses were worn – but the cold did not reduce.
The priests lit the fingers. Wrapped in silk garments. Wore a hot dress of wool. But the cold did not diminish.
The test of love begins. The next day was very cold. Shrinathji told the priests
I feel very cold.
Vitthalnathji had a dream – A cloth that is pressed down in the cupboard, has been sent with love, give me.
He immediately ordered that red thick cloth, and made a tunic for Srinathji.
When that clothes was worn to God, Srinathji said with a smile, closed his eyes,
Then Vitthalnathji (son of Vallabhacharya) indicated and found a red cloth hidden in that clothes. From that, the tunic was made and as soon as Srinathji wore it – Smile and said that now my cold is overcome.
Victory of love On that day, Shrinathji said in the entire meeting – There is no wealth in this cloth, there is heat of love – and I want the same.
Love love not with wealth, but with a true heart When fast is fasting, God himself plays it Renunciation is not a true devotee, but wants to serve Leela recognizes the love hidden behind the feelings of the devotee
In what Tripurdas ji offered, there was only love in it – and that Lord felt the most loved. True devotion is not by wealth, but with compassion and emotion.
Devotee’s love, God’s smile This incident teaches us that when our love is true, God finds happiness in it – even if it is a simple cloth.
