There was great love between a dog and a chicken. One day both of them went for a walk together. It was night in the middle of a forest. To spend the night, the rooster climbed a branch of a tree and the dog lay down under the same tree.
Slowly dawn came. It is the nature of the rooster that it crows loudly at dawn. As soon as he heard the sound of a chicken, a jackal thought in his mind that today, by taking some measures, I will kill this chicken and eat its meat. With this determination, the sly jackal went to the tree and addressed the cockerel and said, ‘ Brother, you are such a good bird; You thank everyone so much. I have come very happy to hear your voice. Come down from the branch of the tree, we will have some fun together.’
Understanding the cleverness of the jackal, the chicken said to give the fruit of his cunning, ‘Brother jackal, you come under the tree and wait for a while, I am getting down.’ Hearing this, when the jackal happily came under the tree, the dog attacked him and killed him by hitting him with his nails and teeth. The one who digs a pit for others falls into the pit himself.
