नामदेवकी पत्नी राजाई अपनी सहेली परिसा भागवतकी पत्नीके पास गयी। घरेलू सुख-दुःखकी। कथाके प्रसङ्गमें राजाईने अपने घरकी अत्यधिक विपन्नताकी राम – कहानी सुनायी।
परिसाकी पत्नीने कहा – ‘सखि ! मेरे पास माता रुक्मिणीकी दी हुई एक पारसमणि है। मैंने बहुत-से लोहेको उसे छुलाकर सोना बनाया और वह सारी सम्पत्ति तहखानेमें धरी है। तू भी उसे ले जा और थोड़े से लोहेको उससे स्पर्श कराके सोना बना ले तथा मेरी मणि शीघ्र मुझे ला दे। किसीको यह भेद न बताना।’
राजाई पारस ले आयी। लोहेसे उसका स्पर्श कराते ही बहुत-सा सोना बन गया। उसे बाजारमें बेचकर वह बहुत-सा सामान खरीद लायी और विविध व्यञ्जन तैयार करके बैठ गयी।
नामदेव भोजनके लिये घर आये। घरका नया रंग देख उन्हें आश्चर्य हुआ। पत्नीसे सब कुछ साफ-साफ बतानेको कहा। राजाईने सारी घटना कह सुनायी। तब नामदेवने कहा—’दिखाओ मुझे।’
राजाईने मणि लाकर नामदेवके हाथमें धर दी। नामदेव उसे लेकर मध्याह्न स्नानके लिये चल पड़े।। चन्द्रभागा में स्नान करके आह्निकके लिये बैठे और उस पारसमणिको चन्द्रभागामें डाल दिया।इधर राजाईको देर होते देख परिसा भागवतकी पत्नी आयी और उससे पारस माँगने लगी। राजाईने घाटपर पहुँचकर नामदेवसे उसे माँगा तो उन्होंने कहा- ‘उसे तो चन्द्रभागाने ले लिया। ‘
दुःखित और लज्जित हो राजाईने आकर भागवतकी
पत्नीको यह बात सुनायी। बेचारी खाली हाथ घर लौटी। भागवतके घर आनेपर उन्होंने मणि न देखकर अपनी पत्नीसे पूछा। उसने सारा हाल कह सुनाया । उसने सर्वत्र प्रचार किया कि नामदेवने पारस चुरा लिया। लोगोंमें एक तहलका मच गया।
देखते-देखते चन्द्रभागापर भीड़ लग गयी। भागवतने आकर नामदेवसे सीधेसे पारस दे देनेको कहा। नामदेवने कहा- ‘उसे मैंने तो चन्द्रभागामें डाल दिया। चाहिये तो निकालकर दिखा दूँ ।’
लोग हँसने लगे। नदीके गर्भमें गयी मणि कैसे निकल सकती है।
नामदेवने डुबकी लगायी, अञ्जलिपर कुछ कंकड़ निकाले और कहा-‘लीजिये, इतने सारे पारस !’ मजाक करते हुए लोगोंने लोहेके टुकड़े उन कंकड़ोंसे स्पर्श कराये। सचमुच वे सोनेके बन गये। लोगोंके आश्चर्यका ठिकाना न रहा।

Namdev’s wife Rajai went to her friend Parisa Bhagwat’s wife. Domestic happiness and sorrow. In the context of the story, the queen told Ram – the story of the extreme poverty of her house.
Paris’s wife said – ‘ Friend! I have a Parasmani given to me by Mother Rukmini. I turned a lot of iron into gold by touching it and all that wealth is kept in the basement. You also take it and make it gold by touching a little iron and bring my gem to me soon. Do not tell this secret to anyone.
Paras brought the kingdom. On touching it with iron, it became a lot of gold. After selling it in the market, she bought many things and sat down after preparing various dishes.
Namdev came home for food. He was surprised to see the new color of the house. Asked the wife to tell everything clearly. The queen told the whole incident. Then Namdev said – ‘Show me.’
The queen brought the gem and put it in Namdev’s hand. Namdev took him and went for his mid-day bath. After bathing in Chandrabhaga, he sat for Ahnik and put that Parasmani in Chandrabhaga. Here, seeing the delay in the kingship, Parisa Bhagwat’s wife came and started asking him for Paras. When the king reached the ghat and asked for him from Namdev, he said – ‘He was taken away by the moon. ,
Saddened and ashamed, the queen came to Bhagwat
Told this thing to the wife. The poor thing returned home empty handed. On coming to Bhagwat’s house, he did not see the gem and asked his wife. He narrated the whole situation. He preached everywhere that Namdev had stolen Paras. There was a panic among the people.
Soon there was a crowd on Chandrabhaga. Bhagwat came and asked Namdev to give Paras directly. Namdev said – ‘ I have thrown him in Chandrabhaga. If necessary, I will take it out and show it.’
People started laughing. How can a gem that has gone into the river’s womb come out?
Namdev took a dip, took out some pebbles on his finger and said – ‘Take this, so many Paras!’ Jokingly, people made the pieces of iron touch those pebbles. Really they have become of gold. People’s surprise knew no bounds.
